Morning at the pasture — breath of fog and motion of life
In the misty morning, on the edge of town, the horses of the “Karlovac Riding Club” awaken the field with play and breath. Two young ones chase through the fog, feeling the freedom in every gallop, while a third grazes quietly — knowing that life is a dance between rest and motion.
The fog softens everything, turning the pasture into a dream.
And to me, in my feverish calm, it gave strength to capture this fragile moment of life, warmth, and breath.
Jutro na ispaši — dah magle i pokret života
U maglovitom jutru, negdje na rubu grada, razigrani konji „Konjičkog kluba Karlovac“ započinju svoj dan. Dva mlada ždrebeta jure kroz vlagu i paru, njušeći hladan zrak i slobodu. Treći mirno pase, kao da sve to već zna — da je život ritam između igre i mira.
Magla sve omekšava, briše rubove svijeta i daje prostoru snove.
A meni, usred viroze, daje snagu da pritisnem okidač i sačuvam trenutak koji miriše na zemlju i jutro.

Nomi, the village i live with -18°C !!!
The easing of the lock down rules here in France has coincided with some decidedly autumnal feeling weather. This picture was taken between rain showers and before the sheep got totally engulfed in the mist. Still it is nice to be able to walk without needing to remember your paper declaration anymore or watch the clock for when the hour is up.

Ἀπολυτίκιον
Τῆς Πύλης τό βλάστημα, τῆς Θεσσαλίας φωστήρ, τῆς Τρίκκης τό σέμνωμα καί τῶν θαυμάτων πηγή, ἐδείχθης τρισόλβιε. Πᾶσαν δοκιμασίαν ἐν Χριστῷ ὑπομείνας, δόξῃ ἠγλαϊσμένος σύν ἀγγέλοις ἀγάλλῃ. Ἅγιε Βησσαρίων πανάριστε, πρέσβευε Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ, σωθῆναι τάς ψυχάς ἡμῶν.
Βιογραφία
Ο Άγιος Βησσαρίων γεννήθηκε στην Πόρτα Παναγιά Τρικάλων το 1490 μ.Χ., λίγα χρόνια μετά την άλωση της Κωνσταντινουπόλεως από τους Τούρκους. Αν και οι συνθήκες ήταν πολύ δύσκολες, γαλουχήθηκε και ανατράφηκε από τους ευλαβείς γονείς του με τα ιερά νάματα της αγίας πίστεώς μας και τα ιδεώδη του Γένους μας σε ένα γεμάτο θεοσέβεια οικογενειακό περιβάλλον.
Από την νεανική του ηλικία διακρινόταν για την ευφυΐα και τη σύνεσή του αλλά και για την ευθύτητα του χαρακτήρος του, την αγνότητα και σωφροσύνη του, την ταπεινοφροσύνη και την βαθειά πίστη του, την απέραντη αγάπη του.
Από πολύ μικρός εκδήλωσε την κλίση του προς τον μοναχισμό. Σε ηλικία μόλις 10 ετών έγινε υποταχτικός (καλογεροπαίδι) στον μητροπολίτη Λαρίσης Μάρκο, που τον χειροτόνησε διάκονο και πρεσβύτερο. Το έτος 1517 μ.Χ. εκλέγεται επίσκοπος Ελασσώνος και το 1521 μ.Χ. αναλαμβάνει την διοίκηση της επισκοπής Σταγών. Το Μάρτιο του 1527 μ.Χ. αναβιβάζεται στον θρόνο της Μητροπόλεως Λαρίσης, κατέχοντας παράλληλα, μέχρι τον Αύγουστο 1529 μ.Χ., ως «τοποτηρητής», και την επισκοπή Σταγών, και ακτινοβολεί με την αγιότητα της ζωής του και την καταπληκτική αγαθοεργό δράση του, ενώ συγχρόνως υπομένει με θαυμαστή ανεξικακία συκοφαντίες και σκληρές δοκιμασίες στις οποίες έλαμψε «ὡς χρυσὸς ἐν χωνευτηρίῳ».
Ο Άγιος Βησσαρίων ως ιεράρχης επιτέλεσε γενικότερα σημαντικότατο έργο, ποιμαντικό, κοινωνικό, φιλανθρωπικό. Έτσι κέρδισε τις ψυχές των χριστιανών και αναδείχτηκε μεγάλη θρησκευτική και κοινωνική προσωπικότητα. Συγκεκριμένα εξαγόρασε και απελευθέρωσε πολλούς αιχμαλώτους, επίσης έδειξε ιδιαίτερη φροντίδα για την προστασία και ανακούφιση φτωχών, γυμνών και πεινασμένων.
Ο Άγιος Βησσαρίων, παρά τους χαλεπούς χρόνους της εποχής του, αποδείχτηκε και ένας πολύδραστος «υπουργός κοινωνικών έργων». Με προσωπική του επίβλεψη και πρωτοβουλία χρηματοδότησε και κατασκεύασε μια μεγάλη σειρά από πολύτιμα και δύσκολα κοινωφελή έργα, όπως εκκλησίες, δρόμους και κυρίως γεφύρια, μία ακόμη μαρτυρία της ανεκτίμητης κοινωνικής προσφοράς της εκκλησίας μας σε κάθε εποχή και τόπο. Για την εξοικονόμηση των αναγκαίων χρημάτων ο Άγιός μας έκανε πολλά και μακρινά ταξίδια, μέχρι τα Βαλκάνια, την Ουγγαρία και Τσεχοσλοβακία. Ως γεφυροποιός εμπνεύστηκε αρκετά γεφύρια: στον Πορταϊκό ποταμό της ιδιαίτερης πατρίδας του Πόρτας Παναγιάς, στη Σαρακίνα της Καλαμπάκας, Πηνειός ποταμός (και με τα δύο επικοινωνεί η πεδινή Θεσσαλία με την ορεινή),τη γέφυρα Κοράκου στον Αχελώο (που συνδέει Θεσσαλία με Ήπειρο), το πρώτο γιοφύρι της Πλάκας (που ενώνει Τζουμέρκα με Άρτα και Γιάννενα).
Για την ψυχική γαλήνη έκτισε στον Κόζιακα την μονή του Σωτήρος των Μεγάλων Πυλών (Δουσίκου), μεταξύ των ετών 1527 - 1534/35 μ.Χ., και στα ερείπια παλιάς ομώνυμης. Η εν λόγω μονή ανεγέρθηκε πάλι εκ βάθρων από τον ανεψιό του Αγίου Βησσαρίωνος και νέο κτήτορα Νεόφυτο Β΄ Λαρίσης κατά την περίοδο 1550 - 1552/57 μ.Χ., τοιχογραφήθηκε δε από τον δεξιοτέχνη ζωγράφο Τζιόρτζη (1557 μ.Χ.) και διατηρείται μέχρι σήμερα σε άριστη κατάσταση.
Έγραψε τρεις διαθήκες και καθιέρωσε το άβατο της μονής Δουσίκου για τις γυναίκες, που τηρείται μέχρι σήμερα με μεγάλη ευλάβεια.
Στις 13 (ή 15) Σεπτεμβρίου 1540 μ.Χ., ημέρα Δευτέρα παρέδωκε την αγίαν ψυχήν του εις χείρας Θεού, υμνούμενος από τότε ως Άγιος και θαυματουργός. Οι ασθένειες που κατ’ εξοχήν θεραπεύει ο Άγιος Βησσαρίων είναι η δυσεντερία, η ευλογιά, η οστρακιά και προπαντός η πανούκλα. Γιατρεύει και αρρώστιες ζώων, φονεύει ακρίδες, καταπαύει την τρικυμία της θάλασσας, συντελεί στην εφορεία της γης. Η ευωδιάζουσα Τιμία Κάρα Του φυλάσσεται στην Ιερά Μονή Του.
Η μνήμη του εορτάζεται στις 15 Σεπτεμβρίου, με ιδιαίτερη ευλάβεια και μεγαλοπρέπεια, στη μονή του, στην Πύλη, στην Καλαμπάκα· στα Τρίκαλα λιτανεύεται η τιμία κάρα του πανηγυρικά την Κυριακή της Σαμαρείτιδος. Τα πρώτα υμνογραφικά και συναξαριογραφικά κείμενά του γράφτηκαν πολύ νωρίς από τον Παχώμιο Ρουσάνο (1552 μ.Χ.).
Από τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2023 το Ζαγόρι ενεγράφη ως πολιτισμικό τοπίο στην παγκόσμια κληρονομιά της UNESCO.

Στο χωριό Φραγκάδες στα Ζαγοροχώρια At Fragkades Zagorohoria
Karnaphuli River, major watercourse of the Chittagong region, Bangladesh. Rising in the Mizo Hills of Mizoram state, northeastern India, it flows about 170 miles (270 km) south and southwest through the southeastern arm of Bangladesh to empty into the Bay of Bengal, 12 miles (19 km) below the city of Chittagong. In the Chittagong Hill Tracts area it is known as the Kynsa Khyoung. The river is navigable by steamer to Rangamati and is extensively used for transporting cotton and forest products. The river’s Karnaphuli hydroelectric project provides power for tea-, jute-, tobacco-, and cotton-processing industries; the reservoir irrigates a vast agricultural area.
কর্ণফুলি নদীর নামের উৎস সম্পর্কে বিভিন্ন কাহিনী প্রচলিত আছে। কথিত আছে যে, আরাকানের এক রাজকন্যা চট্টগ্রামের এক পাহাড়ি রাজপুত্রের প্রেমে পড়েন। এক জ্যোৎস্নাস্নাত রাতে তারা দুই জন এই নদীতে নৌভ্রমণ উপভোগ করছিলেন। নদীর পানিতে চাঁদের প্রতিফলন দেখার সময় রাজকন্যার কানে গোঁজা একটি ফুল পানিতে পড়ে যায়। ফুলটি হারিয়ে কাতর রাজকন্যা সেটা উদ্ধারের জন্য পানিতে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েন। কিন্তু প্রবল স্রোতে রাজকন্যা ভেসে যান, তার আর খোঁজ পাওয়া যায় নি। রাজপুত্র রাজকন্যাকে বাঁচাতে পানিতে লাফ দেন, কিন্তু সফল হন নি। রাজকন্যার শোকে রাজপুত্র পানিতে ডুবে আত্মাহুতি দেন। এই করুণ কাহিনী থেকেই নদীটির নাম হয় কর্ণফুলী

For thousands of years, fishermen have used trained cormorants to fish the rivers and lakes of China. To control the birds, the fishermen tie a snare near the base of the bird's throat. This prevents the birds from swallowing larger fish, which are held in their throat, but the birds can swallow smaller fish. When a cormorant catches a fish, the fisherman then brings the bird back to the boat and has it spit the fish up onto the bamboo deck.
Cormorant fishing has been practiced in China and Japan since around 960 AD, although these days it is largely used as a tourist attraction.

Ως συνήθως σε ξεχωριστά γραφεία από τους “απλούς” υπαλλήλους,τους κοινούς θνητούς,για να “ελέγχουν” τους υφισταμένους και να μην έχει κανείς την δυνατότητα της άμεσης επαφής μαζί τους παρά μόνον αφού περάσει από γραμματείς και Φαρισαίους.
Τι υπέροχα το ενσάρκωσε ο αξέχαστος Χρόνης Εξαρχάκος στον “Κατεργάρη” του παλιού καλού Ελληνικού κινηματογράφου:
-Άστον να περιμένει παιδί μου(στην γραμματέα του- Καίτη Ιμπροχώρη).Πώς θα καταλάβει ότι γίναμε διευθυντές;
Οι ίδιοι είναι απασχολημένοι με “σοβαρότερες” υποθέσεις (κατά κανόνα με ένα τηλέφωνο κρεμασμένο μονίμως στο αυτί να μιλάνε με “ομοτίμους” για γκόμενες ή για ποδόσφαιρο).
Οι προϊστάμενοι!!!
Διευθυντές,τμηματάρχες,επικεφαλής,υπεύθυνοι και το κακό συναπάντημα.
Σπουδάρχες,αρχολίπαροι,καρεκλοκένταυροι,εξουσιολάγνοι,εξουσιομανείς,θεσιθήρες,υπερόπτες,εγωπαθείς,αρριβίστες,μακιαβελιστές,
χιτλερίσκοι,μυρμηγκολέοντες,παιδιά του κομματικού σωλήνα,με πτυχία και μεταπτυχιακά χωρίς σπουδές γι αυτό και λεξιπένητες,σολοικιστές,κακοποιητές της Ελληνικής αλλά με περισπούδαστο και δοκησίσοφο ύφος είναι πάντα έτοιμοι να σου μιλήσουν για την θέση “ευθύνης” την οποία τους εμπιστεύθηκε η πολιτεία;!!!
Πόση,όμως,συναισθηματική αναπηρία,πόση βραδύνοια,πόση αμβλύνοια,πόση ανασφάλεια,πόσα συμπλέγματα κατωτερότητος,πόσες φανερές και αφανείς μειονεξίες κρύβουν κάτω απ’αυτήν την φενάκη της περιστασιακής εξουσίας στην συντριπτική πλειοψηφία τους,τα δυστυχή αυτά ανθρωπάκια με την βούληση,ευφυΐα και ελευθερία γραναζιού;
Κάποιος πρέπει να τους υπενθυμίσει ότι η αξιοπρέπεια και ο σεβασμός δεν διορίζονται μαζί τους στην “θέση”.
Κατακτώνται μέρα τη μέρα με την ανάλογη συμπεριφορά.
Ω οἱ ποιμένες οἱ διασκορπίζοντες καὶ ἀπολλύοντες τὰ πρόβατα τῆς νομῆς μου.

Στα βοσκοτόπια του Δήμου Φαρκαδόνας In the Farkadona's pastures

A very old and rusty crane sits in the cornfield in rural Nemaha County, Nebraska. I don't think it's moved for years. Rust In Peace, old crane.
More bubble fun today as it was cold and according to everything we read and saw on You Tube it has to be cold which of course it was. The bubbles also have to be on snow or something else cold so that they will start to frost from the inside. It also showed using a straw or something similar to a turkey baster to get the liquid up and then push out to form a bubble on the snow or whatever you have to put the bubble on.
I tried a straw in a squishy plastic bottle but, the bottle after awhile it just scrunched all up so it did not work like a turkey baster would. I tired to blow the bubbles myself again outside but the wind carried most of them off and when I did catch one or two by the time I got them on the snow on the railing, got my "no longer autofocuses lens" to focus the bubbles burst (sad face). I managed to get two though that I was happy with and this is one.
So there you have it. Till next time when I decide to try this again.
Been staying away from my camera for a while, so today I finally got out of the town to explore some abandoned places such like this. This house is located in a partial ghost town, Winslow, just north of Fremont, Nebraska. This town is located on the flood-plain, and is very close to the river. Of course, you get the picture, they have a lot of flood experience.
Here's a good example, after nearly two feet of water from the Elkhorn River rolled into town in March 2019, most of the 100 residents did not return to their homes, according to the article published in 2020 I found. And the article stated they are discussing to relocate the community to the higher ground.
UPDATED: I decided to dig some more about relocating. And here's what I found from the recent article: "But that all changed at a town meeting in January [2021], where state, federal and local agencies confirmed a long-running fear of Klein’s [town trustee]: it’s illegal to move a town in the state of Nebraska."
Wow, I am shocked! There's an actual law states it is illegal to move a town. Interesting!!
Well it's much milder out there today a balmy 2C. We had a wee bit of snow when I headed out for my out and about today for my 365 image(s).
Yes, I know this is not that super sharp for a macro but, this was hand held with my no longer autofocusing Sigma 105mm macro (sad face) and I was on the side of the road getting this having to make sure I didn't run over as the locals were likely rushing to get to the landfill. It closes at 4:00 people ... you have time!! It's 40k here not 80k!

From the 19th of February at the bird seed platform. the two in the air were not happy with each other I think.
I appreciate each and every visit, comment and fave here on my little corner of the world as seen through my lens.
One of the private group pages that I am a member of, and I noticed an earlier post by someone stating that this schoolhouse (one of my favorite schoolhouses in Polk County) was no longer standing, but following my visit yesterday afternoon (per photo), I can confirm that this is incorrect. The field is secured by an electric fence, as it is currently being used for cattle.
