These are photos of the Downtown Rocks and Runs 5K Race in Mount Airy NC. Officiated by Go Sports Timing. The proceeds was for the United Fund of Surry County.
Puffin cannot go past the wood pile without grabbing a piece. Our firewood is once again spread across the prairie.
Runs presently so slow the loads cannot be carried. Its like running DLR stock at DLR frequencies on the Victoria Underground Line.

Carpers Pike runs south from the Northwestern Turnpike (Route 50) through the Capon Valley. Along its journey south, the road becomes Main Street in historic Wardensville, located on the eastern side of Hardy County. Originally land patented by Lord Farifax, George Washington was among those to survey these then frontier lands in the 1750s. One family that came to settle in this section of the valley, the Wardens, began to lay out a town in the 1820s. Chartered in 1832, the village of Trout Run, which would in time come to be known as Wardensville after its founding family, began to grow on the rich agricultural lands of the valley and a wealth of iron ore deposits in the surrounding mountains. The town witnessed both Union and Confederate troop movement during the Civil War, with skirmishes occurring in the region throughout the war. In 1879, Wardensville was incorporated, becoming the only other municipality in Hardy County besides its seat, Moorefield.
This structure was originally built to house the Wardensville Presbyterian Church. The building exhibits Italianate Style, popular in the 1870s-1890s.
On April 17, 2021, Illinois Midlands rare EMD RS1325 #31 runs a freight train as part of Throttle Time. The locomotive was recently acquired by the Monticello Railway Museum in Monticello, Illinois.
Abdon runs the Brabant hostel in Nasca along with his Dutch wife. He decided Jim looked like a man who might enjoy a drink and invited him to the roof at 9pm to help him consume half a bottle of Pisco. Unexpected but very enjoyable!

Mike Hagan who runs DCPGW made arrangements for 20 of us to spend the afternoon capturing images at the Delaware Park Horse Racing facility in Wilmington Delaware. The afternoon began with a tour and some insight on where the best vantage points might be. Mike was on hand to provide group and individual assistance on camera settings that best fit the situation.
