@ Corona Del Mar (HDR - 3xp)
might be cheesy but working on this shot reminds me of the saying below for some odd reason.. =)

"i can't describe the number of obstacles i've gone through in my life that had changed me 180 degree.. however i can describe all the happiness i've kept in my mind everytime i overcome them.. so enjoy the moment when it arise, seize the day"

Here my friend is with the lady who runs the B&B at the farm, Odile.
This is the farm, called La Ferme du Pressoir where we stayed. It's near the small town of Bayeux, Normandy On the farm they raise Charolais beef cattle and also make apple cider and Calvados. It is now being run by the third generation of the Delalande family.
The working part of the farm is quite separate to the house, so there is no danger for children. The Delalande family will take great pleasure in showing you around their ancestral farm. Odile's father was a prisoner of war during WWII, as were many of the young men at that time who fought for their country - if you speak French Odile's father will recount his story of his escape from a POW camp in Germany - he and a friend made their way back to France on foot under cover of darkness and sleeping by day in barns!!
After the battles of World War II in this area, all that remained of the house were the stone walls. Since then the house has been rebuilt to it present French country grandeur and charm.
The link for more info on this wonderful B&B is here.

Chattahoochee Rapids
While everything surrounding it has changed, the Chattahoochee River still runs as it has since before history was recorded. The Indians respected the river as a food source, a transportation artery, and an esteemed element of the spirit world. As cultures changed, it became useful for traffic and trade. As road transportation became popular and the river was used less, it became a hydroelectric power provider, a drinking water source and now recreational activities. No matter what its purpose, it still runs through the Chattahoochee Valley and makes its way to the sea.
Makers in the Jocelyn H. Lee Innovation Lab were challenged to transform potential energy into kinetic energy. (That's fancy-talk for playing with marbles.) Marble runs were created with track sections 3D printed on the Gigabot, tracks folded from cardstock pre-cut on the laser cutter and a variety of hand-made and found items. And tape - lots and lots of tape. Photo credit: James Mahon.
As noted in the previous picture, Virginia Street runs north-south from downtown Reno across the width of the Reno area and midtown South Virginia Street is a fairly dense corridors of businesses that, when I was in Reno in 2013, were looking fairly rough.
The stretch of street now looks much better, and one of the things that seems to be a strong part of turning the stretch into a vibrant area seems to be the addition of public art, such as at this traffic circle. The circle and art is clearly fairly new since a Google street view from 2019 shows no circle there, but a street view from 2021 does show the circle and art.

Ryde, 27th International Scooter Rally Isle of Wight. The largest Scooter Rally in the UK, takes place each year over the August Bank Holiday . Visitors come from all over the world to see the wonderful array of scooters.
This year we saw scooters that were customised with everything from matchsticks to embossed Spanish saddle leather. It was fabulous to catch up with some of the riders again, and see the fabulous clothing that some wore.
Carlisle runs into Alston having been dispatched to rescue a failed steam locomotive.
This is the second of two Clayton battery-electric locos, donated (with batteries and chargers) to the STR by Transport for London where they were used on engineering trains. They have been rebuilt to 2ft gauge to run on the line. They were used during the construction of the ( yet to open) extension and are used occasionally on passenger services. The loco batteries will be charged from the new solar power supply system installed at Alston and may well constitute the first solar powered passenger trains!

24UR (24 Hours), a Croatian news website, published several new photos of Shanghai Tower, and a video of its Chief Architect, Marshall Strabala. This image (showing top of adjacent Shanghai World Financial Center) and the 9 total images posted here -- all from Reuters -- are in the May 17 story. While they were shot on a very rainy Shanghai day this month, they still resulted in some stunning images.
