Looking north from the top of Froswick (see previous pic), a fell runner appears as a tiny speck as he runs up to Thornthwaite Crag on the Kentmere horseshoe. He told me he had recently moved to Staveley in the valley, so this circular route is on his doorstep. Lucky guy, I hope he made it round ok as the climb up to Harter fell looked pretty fearsome and it was already late in the day..

Η κριτική επιτροπή του διαγωνισμού που αποτελείται από τους διακεκριμένους καλλιτέχνες Δημήτρη Ταλιάνη (φωτογράφος-εκδότης), Μάριο Σπηλιόπουλο (καθηγητής ΑΣΚΤ-ζωγράφος) και Σωτήρη Χατζάκη (σκηνοθέτης), ανακοίνωσε Α) τους τρείς (3) μεγάλους νικητές του διαγωνισμού Β) τις τριάντα (30) καλύτερες φωτογραφίες οι οποίες θα εκθέτονται στο Cafe του ΙΑΝΟΥ (Σταδίου 24) από την επόμενη ημέρα της ανακοίνωσης μέχρι την Τετάρτη 30 Δεκεμβρίου, Γ) τις εκατό (100) επιλεγμένες φωτογραφίες που εκτυπώθηκαν σε σελιδοδείκτες του ΙΑΝΟΥ, καθώς και το σκεπτικό επιλογής των νικητών.

I'm not sure if it's coincidence or just my perspective but it always feels like interesting power comes out of the woodwork whenever my semester starts. Both at college a few years back and now at university. Admittedly there wasn't exactly a drought of cool things to see in the area before this, but I somehow let a good 3 or 4 years pass by since capturing one of CP's heritage units and suddenly one of them landed on my doorstep two days in a row. Amazingly the fun police in Montreal kept 7016 leading after it arrived. It may have been the first week of classes but who am I to turn that down?

At the last spot of the chase, train 231 is seen crossing the 1913-built trestle at Cherrywood just before sunset. I had less than a minute to jump out of the car and run to the overlook in time. Condolences to those behind me who got caught in the rush hour traffic.
