Shooting a friend's wedding. These sisters are the bride's daughters. One of my favorite shots from the day.

We had a nice hang in the kitchen this morning as everyone got up and going. It was a gross, rainy day today, and we all got to stand in it while we waited for a table at the Ruby Slipper. While we waited, a blind dude wandered up to us trying to find a bus stop. After looking around, checking our phones, and asking the folks working at the Ruby Slipper with no luck, Hannah called dibs. She and I ended up walking the dude to the end of the street, where we finally tracked down the bus stop. I’m SO glad I wore my raincoat! I was less excited about the wool shoes.
This evening we floated around to a few bars with live music. There’s so much good stuff out there! I can’t remember the name of the place we landed, but the band stylistically reminded me SO MUCH of Snarky Puppy. It was a smaller group, but they killed it up there. They even did an ongoing open mic thing, where they had a running list where people could sign up to go onstage and play with the band. At one point a drummer and singer both went up and you couldn’t even tell that they’d all just met each other tonight. Even more exciting for me was how much the rest of our group was into it. I’ve grown so accustomed to friends and family being lukewarm about that style of music that I almost had more fun seeing this group bobbin’ than I did watching the show itself.
Happy real-life birthday, Kitty!

First photo in the 365 project. Or, my vintage naked lady photo from the 1890s, and my very dusty miniature ruby slipper. The blurs just happen.
