On Sucia Island, kids were taking sticks, poking the poor creatures deep enough to try to carry them to sea. Not sure why there were so many on the beach. Someone thought this was normal that they die like that. I'm curious, that is for sure. I captured a bit of the light-catching gelatinous mass. Here is a quote:
"If you see a gelatinous blob on the beach, it would be prudent to avoid contact. Even a jelly that's long dead and beaten to bits can still sting since the nematocysts continue to remain active. " Does anyone know about this Puget Sound variety?
