A preview of a short graphic novel written by James Payne and illustrated by Myfanwy Nixon.
"Fledgling stand-up comedians in Brighton navigate not only their comedy routines but the routines of life."
My daily routine with PT around my little lake, resulted in many of the images here on my stream (see " my dreamland" and "soundgarden" ).
My dear friend Kim/Digitallyte made this image of PT and me and I was so happy with it, because you never see yourself like this.
Thanks so much Kim, I now know what we look like :-)

Many people complain about the routine in their lives. I don't understand that. Of course, for many of us the journey home-work-home from Monday to Friday, some hours a day in front of a monitor, Saturday's night out and Sunday shopping with carrying massive plastic bags with food on the way home are the normal issues. Anyway, there is still no point to kick against. At least spend a few hours a week to explore the neighborhoods and you will see how casual stuff transforms into little exposures. Today is the second time I have visited The Monument. And it's wonderful, I have to say!
San'ya (山谷, San-ya) is a place in Taitō, which is one of the special wards of Tokyo in Japan. It is a region with a distinct culture, an area of crowded, cheap rooming houses where day laborers live.
San'ya dates to the Edo period. Lower caste workers, butchers, tanners, leatherworkers, and the like, were forced to live in this undesirable region by the predominantly Buddhist authorities. It has retained its association with both lower class workers and with craftsmen. Within the past few years gentrification has begun to encroach on the area.In recent years, many of the rooming houses have converted to provide cheap accommodation for foreign backpackers.
The name means "mountain valley".
