O encontro regional será entre os dias 13 e 15 de maio, em Vitória/ES. O tema central desta edição é Comunicação, Cultura e Juventude. Os classificados nas etapas regionais vão disputar, em Caxias do Sul/RS, a fase nacional do concurso.

BEELDBEPALEND BIJDRAGEN IN DE DIGITALE WERELD
Verhalen over digitalisering - De laatste tijd heb ik enige afbeeldingen geupload op Flickr om tekst en uitleg te geven van m'n bijdragen op Wikipedia. Hierbij tracht ik te beschrijven wat daar eigenlijk gebeurt en een indruk te geven van de impact van dit werk. Als voorbeeld bespreek ik hier de eigen bijdrage aan de representatie van de Rotterdamse stichting Passionate-Bulkboek.
De afgelopen paar jaar heb ik op de Nederlandse Wikipedia gewerkt aan een serie artikelen over de Rotterdamse kunst en cultuursector. Dit ging vooral over kunst en vormgeving, de directe betrokkenen en betrokken organisaties. Er was ook wat over theater, muziek, dans, educatie, galeries, en de Rotterdamse Kunststichting als bindende factor, In dit kader ontstond er ook een opzet over de literaire organisatie Passionate Bulkboek.
Bij het vooronderzoek van dit artikel was me opgevallen, dat ze al een bijzonder aardige digitale presentatie hadden online op diverse websites van hun eigen organisatie en activiteiten. Dat is bij vele organisaties en personen toch wel anders.Een Wikipedia artikel kan dan echt online een aanvulling zijn, en springt na aanmaak ook meteen in de top van de Google zoekresultaten.
Bij Passionate Bulkboek had ik niet het idee, dat daar nu enige behoefte aan zou bestaan. Het zag er al goed uit. Zo was het dan ook best even schrikken, toen ik net die organisatie nog eens googlede en zag dat dat beeld was verdrongen.
Tegelijkertijd besefte ik, dat ik hier eigenlijk weer een beeldbepalende bijdrage had geleverd. De foto rechtsboven en het tweede zoekresultaat. Die stonden er half jaar terug nog niet. Het artikel zelf stond al langer op m'n verlanglijst, en de foto was al van elf maanden terug, juni 2019. De opzet van het artikel was op 16 november 2019 online gezet.
Dat beide tegelijk in het eerste aanzicht op m'n laptop zouden verschijnen had ik toch echt niet verwacht. Het is vooral ook die foto. Het afgelopen jaar heb ik bijvoorbeeld ook zo'n combinatie gemaakt voor het Rotterdamse HipHopHuis en voor de Rotterdamse SKVR: een artikel en enige foto's, dan wel illustraties.
De uitdaging op Wikipedia was telkens om een representatieve basis te leggen met enige illustratie. Met de uiteenlopende disciplines en organisaties was dat telkens best een uitdaging om ook een representatief beeld te maken. Met de afbeelding van Passionate Bulkboek had ik een afbeelding gemaakt met een tekst met een spiegeling van de natuur vrijwel in zwart-wit. Voor het Wikipedia artikel over Stichting Poetry International had ik een vergelijkbaar beeld geconstrueerd. Beide foto's zijn een specifieke uitsnede van een foto van het naambord naast de ingang van de Westersingel 16 in Rotterdam.
Op Wikipedia zelf is dat artikel niet zo bijzonder vaak bezien (zie hier), maar of dat ook geldt voor de zoekresultaten? Bij zo'n ondersteunende organisatie heb je ook de afzonderlijke producten, die veelal meer aandacht krijgen (zie ook hier).
Nu is hier nog pas een paar maanden, dat er belangrijke stempel is gedrukt op het digitale profiel van dit onderwerp, Maar het is toch even de status quo, en daarbij vraag ik me wel af of ik nog gelukkig ben met deze beeldbepalende bijdrage. Wat me op andere online plekken blijft verwonderen, is dat die situatie nu al jaren voortduurt. De beeldbepalende bijdrage is een tijdsbeeld-bepalende bijdrage geworden... en dat is naar mijn mening een karakteristiek van een succesvol kunstenaarschap.
