Ostie était le port de la Rome antique, situé à l'embouchure du Tibre, à 35 km au sud-ouest de Rome.
Du fait de l'ensablement, le site se trouve désormais à l'intérieur des terres.
Le port antique importait les céréales, l'huile d'olive, le vin, le garum et les autres marchandises en provenance de tout le monde romain, qui étaient ensuite acheminés jusqu'au port fluvial de l'Emporium.
La ville portuaire, abandonnée à la fin de l'Empire romain, conserve des rues et des bâtiments antiques, en particulier des entrepôts, des boutiques, des sanctuaires et des immeubles d'habitation, parfois sur une hauteur de plusieurs étages.

So here we are, on the road again, and I hadn't sorted out the Sony A6000 to Snapseed interfaces.
I shoot RAW and my image transfers from this trip look meh. After 4 weeks it finally occurred to me to look at the file size. Lo and behold, thumbnail jpgs were transferred. Ugh.
This is why my cellphone images look sharp on Flickr and the A6000 images do not.
I tested shooting RAW + JPG and the good, full Rez JPG does transfer. Lesson learned.
Next thing is image processing.
I read about how Norman Seeff used to print high contrast works with a twist. He used a black stocking between the enlarger lens and paper to give a interesting softness to some of his images.
He wasn't by any means the only one to do this.
When I worked at Samy Cameras photo lab on Sunset Blvd in Hollyweird we used to do this at client request. It was really no big deal.
What was a bigger deal was our use of Agfa Portriga Rapid 111 Glossy paper. It gave a gorgeous deep walnut brown tone. We used this for may of the gallery shows we printed for various then famous photographers.
Taking the black stocking idea and borrowing tones from Portriga Rapid, it turns out, expresses pretty well how I feel about Rome.
So, here is a series of images done in an old, outdated, likely not very hip manner.
The Temple of Vespasian and Titus is located at the western end of the Roman Forum between the Temple of Concordia and the Temple of Saturn. It is dedicated to the deified Vespasian and his son, the deified Titus. It was begun by Titus in 79 after Vespasian's death and Titus's succession. Titus’ brother, Domitian, completed and dedicated the temple to Titus and Vespasian in approximately 87. The temple was constructed to honor the Flavian Dynasty, which comprised the emperors Vespasian (69 - 79), Titus (79 - 81), and Domitian (81 - 96). The temple suffered significant damage during medieval times, particularly around1300 under Pope Boniface VIII, and in Pope Nicholas V's remodelling of the Forum, which involved the demolition of both angles of the temple on the Forum side and the reconstruction of its front as a fortress with corner towers. All that survives today is the podium's core (with some of its peperino lining), parts of the cella (two fragments of its travertine wall and part of the pedestal at its back for the cult statues), and three Corinthian columns at pronaos's southeast corner.

One thing about the Rome Airport, they have lots of Big Advertising Posters. I really love those posters.

In Rome, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
The President of Ukraine expressed gratitude for Italy’s steadfast support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its consistent focus on Ukraine during Italy’s presidency of the G7.
"I recall all our meetings, and they always concluded with us finding solutions to very complex issues. One of the most challenging is protecting the rights of people in Ukraine, as well as defending our sovereignty and territorial integrity. I am very pleased that your position in supporting Ukraine, our people, and our children has always remained unwavering," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian President provided an update on the situation at the front lines and on Russia’s ongoing missile terror targeting civilians.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed the continuation of military assistance to Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his appreciation to Italy for its significant military-technical support, including the approval of the 10th aid package.
He emphasized the importance of coordinated actions by partner countries to end the war with a just and lasting peace.
The President of Ukraine also commended Italy’s firm stance on maintaining and enforcing sanctions against Russia.
A key topic of negotiations was the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.
The President thanked Italy for its care and support of Ukrainian orphans currently residing in Italy because of the Russian aggression.
The leaders also discussed preparations for the International Ukraine Recovery Conference, scheduled for July 10–11 in Rome. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Italian experts could join the restoration of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
President Zelenskyy extended an invitation to President Mattarella to visit Ukraine.
