J'ai encore des cartes postales à partager mais aujourd'hui je reviens à Rome . J'y étais avec une bonne amie et vous voyez que nous étions heureuse. Cette pièce se trouve sous le portique d'uneéglise et est considérée comme une des plus grandes curiosités de Rome, attirant tous les ans des milliers de visiteurs.
I still have postcards to share but today I return to Rome. I was there with a good friend and you can see we were happy.

Galleria Sciarra, in Rome, celebrates women as angels of the hearth, as mothers, and as brides. Its walls, decorated with colorful Art Nouveau and Belle-Époque motifs, are a visual translation of the bourgeois clichés that were popular after the Italian Unification. The “Scapigliato” poet Emilio Praga summed them up well in his verses: “Yet the image is sweet / of women at home: / they are Muses, they are angels / of the domestic sky”.
Walking around the backstreets of Rome I found this lovely little classic Italian back road, Vespa included.
Rome is so beautiful and very photogenic.
Shooting by hand at night @ F2.0 and ISO5000 the image is a bit soft but definitely a keeper.
Stop 2 of my week-long “past vacation shots never posted” tour is Rome. What a dream destination for photographers! The colosseum, ancient ruins, beautiful cathedrals, 7-hill vistas. So what did I choose to photograph? An alley. Well, to be fair a motorcycle riding down an alley. But strangely enough I appreciate the composition of this alley image as much as any of my other Rome photos. I was going to title it “Facile Rider” but thought it might give away I’m not fluent in Italian.
