Rokinon 14mm @ f8

I think it was 1998 when I met Tom...he was the lead guitarist in a newly formed band with my dear friend Dave. We eventually became hard-core groupies with their band The Mulligans (OK...more like roadies, lighting techs and band photographers), and soon Darren (the lead singer) and Mike (the drummer) felt like brothers to me.

Over the years we had some amazing times...crazy gigs (an over-nighter on Washington Island comes to mind) and many MANY weekend nights crawling home as the sun rose.

Twenty years later (damn...I am old) each of these guys still performs musically while they hold strong careers (and lives) outside of music. At the risk of sounding patronizing, I am proud of each of them...

Friday night we traveled to Dundas, WI to watch Tom in a band called Hank's Caboose...another of Tom's ventures formed years ago and reconnecting Friday to share their musical gifts at Rocky and Tara's Nut Haus. <3

Oh, and check out Tom's solo CD...with a cover photo by yours truly. :-)

Rokinon 14mm f5.6. Starting to notice a soft spot of focus in the upper left hand side of the frame (lower left in this shot). More testing is needed...

Tonight just after sunset at the Sepulveda dam, my 1st time there. Moon and stars poking thru the clouds.

Dating from 1816, the Neue Wache was designed by the architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel and is a leading example of German neoclassicism. Originally built as a guardhouse for the troops of the Crown Prince of Prussia, the building has been used as a war memorial since 1931. Berlin, Germany.

Time to get back in the game!!

Since switching to a FF setup I've missed my 10-22mm UWA lens. So, after reading plenty of awesome reviews I decided to pickup the Rokinon 14mm 2.8 aspherical UWA lens. It's all manual, which should be fun to play with and learn hyperfocal distance focusing.

January 2nd, 97.5% Full Moon

As beautiful as the trees are with their leaves on, during the summer, I think they also look very nice "naked" in the wintertime. Their form becomes more visible, specially with the white snow as a background.

Us fat fucking rooftoppers barely meet the weight restrictions. Mildly more amusing if you push "L".

Taken at the 2013 Concours d'Elegance at the Cedar River park in Renton, WA. We "stumbled" on this show and I wish I had taken the time to catalog models/year information. Used a Rokinon (Samyang) 14mm and LightRoom 5 for post adjustments.

January 20th, Sunrise Set at Night

Wanted to post something so went through some images from a recent visit. Decided to do a little black and white with some additional tweaks. This location is slowly being renovated, no work has been done in it for quite a while. It still retains that abandoned flavor despite having been cleared of most of the debris.

Another take on this subject I shot a while back.

You see that black mold all over the walls and drapes? It's in my lungs. My hope is that osteopathic medicine can cure the lung infection I'm going to get as a result. Too bad the hospital's shut down. We're all doomed.

This caught my eye the second I entered this clothing store.

That's a tent hiding behind the brush. Camping in the Bahia de los Angeles, Baja Mexico.
