Giant sequoias are the world's largest single trees and largest living thing by volume. Giant sequoias grow to an average height of 50–85 m (164–279 ft) and 6–8 m (20–26 ft) in diameter. Record trees have been measured to be 94.8 m (311 ft) in height.
The oldest known giant sequoia based on ring count is 3,500 years old. Giant Sequoias are among the oldest living things on Earth.

These were shot in RAW, using a D7100 converted to JPG using Capture NX-D. No other adjustments were made.

He's been super happy to be back home after his week-long stay with our friends. He had a great room there, but I think he missed his usual digs here, because he's been "binkying" a lot since he returned, and he normally does that rarely.

I took an earlier shot next to the resort, but I wasn't satisfied with the light pollution, so I kept driving away from the resorts until I hit a dirt road and that's where I stopped, as I haven't explored the area by daylight and I was afraid of the road conditions. You can't see the ocean on this shot, but the details of the Milky Way core are way better, even though the clouds started rolling in and also the full moon was rising (that bright light in the background).
What's cool about Milky Way shots in Hawaii is that it's almost parallel to the ground, compared to all my other shots, where the Milky Way is more vertical.
