With a German mother-in-law, Christmas Eve is immediately the most important day of the year with lots of beautiful gifts.
I rode my bike along part of the Banks Vernonia Trail on Halloween day. It's a great fall bike ride because of all the brilliant yellow bigleaf maples along the route.
By the way, I didn't arrange any of these leaves. I never do that in my photos. Mother Nature did all the leaf-placing for this shot.
A friend alerted me to local flooding on one of our local reserves. This is the river Roding in Essex having burst its banks. In summer it's a bit more than a trickle but you certainly can't see it from this point.
The reserve is characterised by flood meadows which gives it its spectrum of vegetation and insect life. In days gone by it used to provide fresh nutrients for grasses and hay crops. Now, however, with modern agricultural fertilisers in the water, it promotes other crops and in particular meadowsweet which is a real nuisance.

In de vogelkijkhut van Jan Troost in Overijsel, kwam ook een rode eekhoorn langs.

La bicicleta és un dels mitjans de transport més populars a tot el món.
Es calcula que hi ha actualment 1.000 milions de bicicletes rodant per tot el planeta.
I una dada que demostra el bon moment de la bici: durant el 2020 es van vendre més d’1’5 milions a Espanya, una xifra mai assolida abans.
Pot ser un element de diversió i lleure, pot tenir un component de competició i també de mobilitat plenament sostenible.
Ho té tot.
Cada vegada són més les persones que utilitzen aquest mitjà pels seus desplaçaments diaris dins de moltes ciutats on els quilòmetres de carril bici s’han incrementat.
I si el que volem és gaudir de l’exercici físic a l’aire lliure la bicicleta és el nostre millor aliat per obtenir un gran benefici per a la nostra salut.

And if we want to enjoy outdoor exercise, cycling is our best ally for a great benefit to our health.
