A friend alerted me to local flooding on one of our local reserves. This is the river Roding in Essex having burst its banks. In summer it's a bit more than a trickle but you certainly can't see it from this point.
The reserve is characterised by flood meadows which gives it its spectrum of vegetation and insect life. In days gone by it used to provide fresh nutrients for grasses and hay crops. Now, however, with modern agricultural fertilisers in the water, it promotes other crops and in particular meadowsweet which is a real nuisance.
Op begraven takjes (els, wilg) en verteerd loofhout in loofbossen op vochtige, voedselrijke grond. Februari-april.

Alleen microscopisch te onderscheiden van de op begraven takjes van wilg, els en esdoorn voorkomende Krulhaarkelkzwam (Sarcoscypha austriaca (Z) en van de op lindentakjes voorkomende Slijmspoorkelkzwam (Sarcoscypha jurana) (ZZ).
Met een Duitse schoonmoeder is Heiligabend / kerstavond meteen de belangrijkste dag van het jaar met veel mooie cadeaus.

Sant Pere de Rodes o Sant Pere de Roda?
El filòleg Narcís Garolera ha demanat a la Generalitat que rectifiqui el nom del Monestir de Sant Pere de Roda (Alt Empordà), que s'escriu -erròniament- Rodes en documents oficials i cartells indicatius a les carreteres.
Els empordanesos han rebutjat l'ús de Sant Pere de Rodes i segueixen referint-se al monestir amb la forma Roda.

El Monestir de Sant Pere de Rodes (Alt Empordà) CAT., es troba a la muntanya de Verdera, dintre de la Serra de Rodes, a uns 520 m d'alçada, amb un domini visual de la badia del Port de la Selva i la mar d'Amunt (part nord del Cap de Creus), a més de bona part del Massís del Cap de Creus.

Sant Pere de Rodes or Sant Pere de Roda?
The philologist Narcís Garolera has asked the Generalitat to rectify the name of the Monastery of Sant Pere de Roda (Alt Empordà), which is written - continuously - by Rodas in official documents and signs indicating the roads.
Empordanes have rejected the use of Sant Pere de Rodes and continue referring to the monastery with the Roda form.
