This poor old buckle was a bit rough so had to go a bit soft on it, I forgot that this one made it past the flood, probably never be worn again but will do a pixel for the road.

We often get a good surf break along the suburbs of Perth (west coast of Australia) in winter. I rode along the coast to north beach with the deliberate intention of getting some slow exposures of the surfers. I wanted to capture the movement of the surf but also to be able to see the surfers on their boards in sufficient detail so that they are distinguishable from the white water. This is a distant shot so the surfers are mere black specks on the water. The winter coast line is beautiful in this light. .
De rode spitskool is een kruising tussen een spitskool en een rode kool. De mooie rode kleur heeft hij van rode kool en de zachte smaak komt van de spitskool. De rode spitskool heeft een spitse vorm met rode, gesloten buitenbladeren er omheen. Hij is familie van de witte kool.

De rode kelkzwam is een zwam die groeit op gevallen takken en versplinterd hout van allerlei boomsoorten, zoals wilg, hazelaar, beuk, iep, els en meidoorn . Ze groeien langzaam en hebben een lange levensduur. Volgens een Brits onderzoek hadden ze vijf maanden nodig (van november tot april) om van 3 tot 20 mm te groeien maar dat was tijdens een strenge winter. De buitenzijde is bleker van kleur dan de binnenkant (waar de sporen worden gevormd) en donzig behaard. Kelkzwammen kunnen 7 centimeter groot worden, maar blijven dikwijls kleiner. De paddenstoel komt over vrijwel de gehele wereld voor
De naam Sarcoscypha is van twee Griekse woorden afgeleid, een woord voor "vlees" (sarx) en een woord voor "beker" (kuphos). De soortnaam coccinea betekent "scharlakenrood".
