Rode Hall, near the village of Scholar Green, is the home of the Baker Wilbraham family, Baronets of Loventor, who have owned it since 1669. The house dates from the early 18th century and the grounds that surround it were landscaped by Humphry Repton. This photograph is of the terrace and Rose Garden, designed in 1861 by William Nesfield.

The house dates from the early 18th century and the grounds that surround it were landscaped by Humphry Repton. This photograph was taken in the two acre Walled Garden, which dates from the 1750s. A wide range of fruit, vegetables and flowers are still grown here. It is also famous for its gooseberries; the current gardener apparently holds the record for growing the world's largest one!
