Construction work on the Damrak's new tram tracks, looking towards Amsterdam Central Station.
The Damrak and Rokin in Amsterdam are (still) one big construction site with work being done for the Noord-Zuidlijn metro, as well as the "Rode Loper" (red carpet) project, upgrading the main arteries into the city to the 21st century, with wide tree-lined sidewalks for ultimate pedestrian strolling pleasure.
Seriously though, the concepts look pretty sweet!

I've lived nearly all my life in this area but only found out about this place a few weeks ago.
I walked from Wanstead down to the Redbridge roundabout and then along this part of the Roding to Woodford Bridge.
More to follow.
London Underground's least used station. Between Chigwell and Woodford on a part of the Central Line that is only served by a relatively infrequent Hainault-Woodford shuttle for most of the time. A Woodford bound shuttle train enters the station.
rode paprika in gloeilamplicht (ook rood) op gewone panchromatische (=roodgevoelige) film: dan wordt rood zo licht dat het bijna een gele paprika lijkt.

I remember my grandparents and aunts waxing lyrical about 'the Rodings', a clump of Essex villages named after the local Anglo Saxon leader Hroða.
Two of them are mentioned on this attractive fingerpost, which appears to be a restoration or replica which is situated north of Abbess Roding.
Just to confuse matters, there is also a station on the London Underground network called Roding Valley. This is some way south of Epping and refers to the River Roding.

Norway. Nordland. Narvik. Nordland Rode Kors Krigsminnemuseum. War Museum Narvik. This relative small museum recreates the events during the Second World War in Norway. Museum highlights are the Narvik campaign in 1940 and the experiences of the foreign POW's in Norway and the Norwegian civilian population during the German occupation.
