The quiet porch of the corner apothecary store setup in the same way it would have appeared in the 1800s. Found in the village at the Landis Valley Museum in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Technical details:
Sakai Toyo 4 1/2 x 6 1/2" (half-plate) large format metal field camera with 4x5" film back.
Fujinon-W 210mm F5.6 lens in Copal B shutter.
Ilford FP4+ B&W Negative Film, shot at ISO 125.
1/2 second at F32.
Developed in Rodinal/Adox Adonal 1:50 dilution for 15 minutes @ 20 degrees Celsius in Mod54 daylight developing tank.
Negative scanned with Epson V600.
This rocking chair belonged to my great grandma but has gotten passed down to my grandpa. This chair was used by my great grandma to rock all of her kids. This chair was used around the 1930’s. The chair was used in Northwest Iowa. My grandpa still has this chair because it was passed down to him and it was his mom's.

this kind of ruler was fixed on a big brick wall in Madrid, near Alonso Martinez.
my guess is it's used to measure the movements of the wall due to humidity, cold and the passing of time.
I just love that rocking chair.
All scooter collectors need a place to work on their scooters. Mine is a 34-foot-long room below our sunroom. It has a 5 foot door to the outside and another into our basement den where the computer is. Best viewed large. Look for notes.

Root, who was a photographer in Monmouth, Warren County, Illinois, in 1880. He had two brothers, Emerson A. Root, and Melville Root, who were also photographers in Monmouth.

Looks like mother and daughter. The mother is in black and may be in morning. They seem to be on their front porch with what may be their most valuable possessions. I do not know what is on the lower shelf of the table. There also seems to be a device just under the drawer of the table but I don't know what it could be.
