I never saw this before, but it's quite simple and elegant. Just two sheets of plastic with conductive traces on them, with another sheet full of holes in between. The holes prevent the traces from touching until you press down through the rubber bump.

It may not look like much, but that little rubble pile in the middle of the channel with three scrawny Black Mangroves is a great destination for the day. When conditions are right, there are tons of fish and creatures to see in the tide pools, caves and rock ledges... and it's not a bad spot to avoid the crowd.

The sponge flats around this bridge between Summerland and Wahoo Key are a great spot for a quick 'beach' dive, when the tide is in.

With the water much too shallow around the bridge, all that's left to do is wait for the incoming high tide... sadly, I left my travel version of Hungry Hungry Hippos behind and we had to entertain ourselves.

At low tide, the water gets pretty thin passing under the abandoned bridge between Summerland and Wahoo Keys.

Kayaking through to reach the eastern shore of Wahoo can be a challenge, which is sometimes necessary, when the wind is howling from the north or west.

This multi-lane waterway off Whiskey Creek rapidly constricts to a 'single track' Mangrove Tunnel leading into the interior of Boot Key. Soon enough, the only way to propel yourself at all is to use the roots themselves.

Peering over the edge of the old bridge into Bahia Honda Channel where the bridge used to be, you can see what's left of the support and the water pipe that used to run the length of the superstructure.

Kayaking around the Cudjoe Key coastline towards the tip, we spotted a group of Double Crested Cormorants hanging out in Kemp Channel near the boundry of the Blimp Road USAF Installation. I have no proof, but I'm convinced at least a couple of 'em are deep undercover spies for Fat Albert.

** Taken at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on May 18, 2013. **

The Solar Impulse HB-SIA aircraft inside the hangar built at Phoenix Sky Harbor. The HB-SIA is a solar powered aircraft designed to revolutionize the idea of solar powered flight. With a wingspan of 208 ft., this plane weighs in at 1,600 kg which is roughly the size of a car. On the wings and horizontal stabilizer are 11,628 Monocrystalline Silicon Solar Cells (10,748 on the wing, and 880 on the horizontal stablilizer). The aircraft could have better efficiency but the weight would have been to much for the aircraft.

During the day, each square meter of land surface receives the eqivalent of 1,000 Watts, also equal to 1.3 horsepower. The amount of power put out by it's four brushless, sensorless electric motor is about the same amount of power that the Wright Brother's had available to them in 1903. Four pods are fixed to the underside of the wings that contain the motors, a polymer lithium battery, and a management system controlling the charge and temperature thresholds.

** Currently a more advanced upgraded variant named the HB-SIB is being constructed to take on the challenge of an around the world flight. The pilot will be able to recline his seat for long flights lasting 4 to 6 days. It will also be able to fly through weather if needed.

It might look a little over packed, but it's just the essentials needed for a day out and in the water in the Florida Keys.

On board our new vessel is the dive bag, plastic cooler, extra soft coolers with more beverages and snacks (Got to stay hydrated) Pelican case for the topside camera, dry bag for clothes, etc.

The dive bag looks a little stuffed, and normally everything stays lashed down at all times, in the unfortunate event that someone capsizes the boat, but since we're safely on land, we're living on the edge.

Red-Bud

I will go, I said, to the country

When the red-bud blooms in the spring

And then, as of old, for sheer rapture

My heart will sing.

The red-bud rosily blossomed

In valley and hill and plain,

And yet my heart could not banish

Its sense of pain.

~May Frink Converse

In this video I will review the new 2013 Mac Mini as well as show you how to upgrade the memory on the device. As an added tip I show you in the video how to add multiple monitors to the mac mini. All the links to this review are at www.aramistech.com/2013-mac-mini-review/

A narrow tunnel at the inner end of the deep horseshoe allows you to escape to the other side. This Red Mangrove Island was formed when it was used as a quarry for the mud needed to support the infrastructure of the Flagler Railroad.

The deep water surrounding the mangroves has a fierce current and serves as a fishing spot in the middle of the surrounding sea grass flats.

We stopped here on the way back from Shell Key and poked around under the undercut ledges, but an impending storm cut down on play time and we had to quit exploring.
