I always thought that if you ran really fast, and got in a good jump, you could make it... I think the key is to visualize success.

I took this photo at Sky Harbor from the East Economy Parking Garage. It was my first time going there to try some spotting and I have to say that it all worked out!

I cut two holes near the top of the cabinet back. The IKEA cabinets (Vika Alex) are made of chipboard and are easy to cut with a hole-saw or jigsaw. I used a scrolling jigsaw. Drilled some mounting holes and screwed the fans in place with the screws that came with the fans. By putting them up high like this they extract the warmest air and pull fresh cool air in from the gaps at the front. The fans are Rocketfish (from Bestbuy) about $10 each, draw about 2W each at 12 volts. I wired them with a small power-supply I had leftover in my junk box. They are whisper quiet, you really cant hear them running at all. I am always a little dubious of CFM ratings but they do the job - says 17 CFM at 1.75 inches of water

This is the only circuit board in the keyboard. It's about 7x4 cm. It effectively has nothing on it except the BCM2042 keyboard/mouse module.

I don't think anyone will find this photo very interesting, unless they find astronomical phenomena exciting (which I do). This is probably the least "pretty" of all the photos in my photostream, but it is also probably the most unique. Pictured is the once in a lifetime transit of Venus across the surface of the Sun, viewed from New York.

Ingress Interior, or Contact II, is the stage of the transit when Venus passes completely in front of the Sun. This photo captures that exact moment.

This was a difficult photo to take. It goes without saying that the sun is very bright, so I needed to cut out as much light as possible- I focused to infinity before looking for the sun, turned off autofocus (since that would open the aperture up), put on a neutral density filter, and used the fastest shutter speed and lowest ISO possible. I also threw a pair of green Rayban sunglasses in the front- thus the green tint.

This may not be NASA grade, but for the first time, that 1/8000 sec exposure time was useful!

It has a pristine and natural feel to it, which is even more impressive when you realize just how close you are to the hustle and bustle of Palm Beach County.

Handheld Rocketfish reflector just above the frame. F/22, 2 second exposure, ISO 100 triggered via WiFi using a cell phone. Gotta keep my practice up with makeshift equipment.
