Mexican Fan Palms can be used to add a tropical flare to just about any landscape. Often planted in straight lines along roads, driveways or sidewalks in Southern California, Nevada, and New Mexico, the Mexican Fan Palms are the classic resort style palm tree.
So two Washingtonia Robusta (I think they are Robusta) planted down on the water front here in Torquay this last week are looking fantastic and are a very nice addition to the other palms already down there, and I'm definately loving the huge fans that these palms have, they are very attractive! There have also been some other plantings and more to come over the next few weeks and I will be getting some pictures of those too.

I got this individual because it was said to be “Zephyranthes robusta (Herb.) Baker, 1888 = Habranthus robustus Herb. ex Sweet, 1831”. However, hybrids such as “Zephyranthes × floryi L.B.Spencer, 1986 = Habranthus ×floryi Traub, 1951
” are also possible.

Grevillea Robusta or 'Silky Oak' is an inhabitant of rain forests in New South Wales and Queensland. The tree has become quite rare in its natural state. Under these conditions it can grow to 30-40 metres in height!
It is frequently planted in streets, parks and gardens. This one is in an old country cemetery.
It grows rapidly from seed. It seldom exceeds 16 metres when cultivated.

3 veces al año podamos las palmeras de nuestros clientes, para quitar palmas muertas o amarillas ,también quitamos las flores justo antes de que estas se abren, porque las flores caídas causan muchas molestias , sobre todo a la gente que tiene piscina.
Pruning palm trees (Washingtonia robusta)
Three times per year we prune the palm trees of our clients, to remove dead, yellow leaves and flower heads. The flower heads we remove just before the flowers open, as dropping flowers are a nuisance, especially for pool owners.
