CN's R911 local shoves westward across an old wooden trestle on the former IC Havana District in Champaign. They've got about 4 miles to go to reach the Bondville elevator with 25 empty hoppers. Two crewmen ride on the porch of the caboose, keeping watch.

When I were to fill the frame of 24x36mm image with 3mm of ruler, the magnification is 36 divided by 3 which equals a 12x magnification.
Here is what I used to provide enough extension to fill the frame of my Fuji X-Pro1 with a 3mm subject:
1. A Nikon F to Fuji X adapter between the Fuji X-Pro1 body and the Nikon PB-4 bellows.
2. A Nikon BR2 reverse lens adapter between the bellows and the reversed 28mm f/3.5 Nikon lens.
If I wanted to replace my 28mm Nikon lens with my 23mm Fuji X lens, all I would need is an adapter to connect the 62mm filter thread of the Fuji lens to the 52mm filter thread of the BR2 reverse adapter. However, why bother because all shots would be at f/1.4 due to no way to change the electronically controlled f-stop.
On our way back from our day out to Lydney we popped into Taurus Crafts, an arts and crafts visitor centre. I got chatting to the very nice man who runs "The Little Bazaar", an antiques and collectables shop, and he kindly gave me these two old French coins.
The coin to the left is a cupronickel French pre-Second World War 25 centime coin from 1924, the coin to the right is an aluminium French Second World War one franc coin from 1943.
During the Nazi occupation of France (1940-44), the franc was a satellite currency of the German Reichsmark. The exchange rate was 20 francs = 1 RM. The coins were changed, with the words 'Travaille ,Famille, Patrie' (Work, Family, Fatherland) replacing the Republican triad 'Liberté, Egalité, Fraternitié' (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity) and the emblem of the Vichy regime added.
This is a little piece of modern history that I was totally unaware of!
Here's a shameless copy of Christo's Black Reverse Flash figure. The head is printed on light flesh instead of light bley and there's no side of leg print but for 60p it's not too bad.... until I crack and order the real thing from Christo at some point.

Sam woke up that morning, and things felt a bit strange. It was the day after his birthday, and he did expect things to change now that he's turned 6.

An ant-mimicking jumping spider with beautiful green eyes!
According to Wikipedia : Myrmarachne is a genus of jumping spiders which imitate an ant by waving their front legs (the second ones in fact for this one) in the air to simulate antennae. Some species also look strikingly like an ant.
The photo is a focus stack of seven shots with a reversed 18-55 mm at ± 24 mm.

I revisted one of my favorite locations over the holiday weekend and was rewarded with some really nice light. The holiday weekend brought plenty of beachgoers and at one point or another nearly all of them made their way into my frame. But that's just how it goes, and as long as I can manage to get a few good shots I don't mind too much.
I really like this location because when the tide is right, this creek flows both ways! It's fun to just sit and watch and wait for the surf to make it's way up into this crevice. Sometimes you will see adventurous visitors climbing into this slippery creek to explore the cave that lies just a few feet upstream, but it can be risky as rogue waves sporadically inundate it. The last time I tried it, I got a great shot but managed to slip and fall into the water as I was leaving. Anyway, I'm pleased to report there were no mishaps on this evening!

On Sunday, the South Devon Railway celebrated their 40th anniversary of re-opening after being closed by British Rail. If I had to choose my all time favourite location for steam shots, then this spot just up from Riverford Bridge on the river Dart would probably be it. On a day with warm sunshine and little wind to disturb the reflections in the river, it is surely very hard to beat.
It's also worth mentioning that the train is going from right to left as we look at the shot (note the direction of the steam). This is because the driver is sat in the end carriage with controls that link back to the engine allowing him to operate it remotely. The poor old fireman is left on his own in the cab to shovel coal by himself.
