An adaptively reused set of structures that once served as the various mills and warehouses of the American Tobacco Company, the American Tobacco Campus, or American Tobacco Historic District, sits on the south side of Downtown Durham. With direction from arts and events coordinator, Jessica Corlett, participants learnt the surprisingly simple art of Amish toothbrush rug-making by reusing a retired toothbrush and waste textiles. We made our own rug making tool and mini rug, with no sewing required. Participants found out that rag rugs are a great way to reuse scrap fabric and are machine washable.

It's pretty simple really, The ReUse Project is about finding multiple uses for things and throwing nothing away that doesn't have to be. ReUsing is kind of like Recycling, only we arent geting rid of things, we are finding new uses for them.
