Another Sampler box reused to send samples back to the Sampler! This super decked-out box came in from Fortune Kitty & Kid Thunder!

It reminds us of the box Nerds come in.

A new try - embroidery in the middle (can you imagine what it is??) It will be a log cabin pillow for my sister´s birthday :)

this piece of linen has been a skirt (I think it was hers..)

This is my everyday, colorful and roomy purse--the background is a grey/black dimple fabric and the selvage strips stand out so brightly. The top is fitted with a hex (flex) frame.

"Wedding dress worn by Keith Fitchett Hatch, May 31, 1944. The war was on -- no wedding dress fabric. Keith Hatch was given one of the last silk parachutes at Langley Field when the Army Air Corps replaced silk with nylon. It came to her with all ropes attached. Her mother studied it, cut off the ropes at the top, then cut one section out of the parachute. 'She fitted the remaining top around my waist [to make the skirt]. A perfect fit."

You can see Keith Hatch wearing her parachute wedding dress in the photo at the left.

This is what my family uses for the majority of our paper towel needs. We cut up old shirts that are not good enough to donate and use them in place of paper towels.

These will still last through several more washings.

Scraps of newpaper, stitch and pigment paint

This one belongs to the matching set with the birdie apron. And fits to aprons pocket, naturally

Reusable Fabric Grocery Bags. Just like the plastic bags. They fold and zip up into an attached pocket.

I'm going through a bunch of jewelry findings from my Uncle's defunct jewellery wholesale business. I'm interested to use some of these in new pieces, combined with plastics.

Video of one of the Megachile lucidiventris bees cleaning out the nesting hole she hatched from for reuse. This bee is one of Rey's offspring and has, since this photo was taken, made several nests of her own in the same hotel. There were two Megachile bees using that hotel, both Rey's daughters, who we named Rayleigh and Ramona. :)

Reusable totes are all the rage, but did you know not all of them are good for the environment.

Most reusable totes are made in China, the energy used alone to ship them to the US negates the potential benefit.

These reusable totes are made right in the USA, by American workers, and the materials are sourced from the states.
