Bernus and Hakus are two brothers who lost each other when they were puppies
By coincidence, they reunited after years.
However .... Hakus is a professor and had to go on a mission to Mars. That was two years ago now. Bernus hoped that Hakus would be home by Christmas 2021. Unfortunately....Hakus didn't come. Bernus is so sad. It is now Christmas 2022. Will Hakus be having Christmas dinner with Bernus this Christmas? Bernus has given up hope. But....... what do I see there?
BERNUS: (talking to himself)
Another lonely Christmas without Hakus again.
HAKUS:
No....not a lonely Christmas for you Bernus
BERNUS:
huh? (Bernus turns his head to the right)
What!!!!!! Hakus????!!!!!!
OMG....you're here!! I missed you so much!!!!
HAKUS:
I've been very busy, but I've also missed you little brother.

As suggested yesterday, the resident loons remain bonded, any separation brief. Unfortunately, breeding prospects again look to be grim. I saw them on their nest a month ago, which they again deserted for whatever reason, and its too late in the season to begin another. An annual disappointment.
First pair of grey herons reunited for the breading season.The male looks on while the female checks on the condition of last years nest the Heronry consists of more than a dozen pairs of breeding birds with the number increasing year on year.
The smaller younger owl to the right had just become capable of flying from the nesting tree to this pine tree around 30 feet away. After being away from its sibling for a few days, it was re-bonding.

Finally, after the crazy Pandemic Postal Service from across the Pond, the Padding ton Bear Bros are re-united. They all needed plenty of Fresh Air for the shock.

and it really does feel so good. My love and my Silver has truly been the only who could ever hd my heart. Sadly RL kidnapped her this time last year and I despaired ever seeing her again. My life went into a severe tailspin and needkess to say it was not pretty.
Happily she is back, life is perfect and I cannot stop singing and smiling.

Three female African lions (Pantera leo)that have been hunting together. After their meal, they went to the watering hole for a drink, then spent time relaxing and grooming nearby. The traces of blood on their coat are from their most recent hunt.

I wasn’t prepared to take this photo. I was up at the lake trying out long exposures with a ND filter for the first time, when this happened. A female loon with her two babies started to call out to her mate. Have you ever heard the cry of a loon? It’s haunting. It was just me at 5:54 AM on the dock at the lake and these loons. I love moments like this. ~

I believe this was the first time these Alstrom units had been shot in the lead together in a very, very long time. 6059 and 6072 had been on the WCOR together until 6072 was shipped off to the B&P, with 6059 joining the party during the middle part of 2021. I had shot them mushed into the center of a set a few days prior, but this was what I truly wanted. Michael and I stumbled through the burr and thorn filled brush just past a business to get down to the river for this shot, one I decided last minute I was going to make him do with me. It proved to be worth it, after we had our usual 10 minute long argument with the sun the pair of grey's led RIBT over the Mahoning Creek Lake (don't ask me) with the preferred lighting in hand.
‘Misanthropes Reunited’
So I just had to return to this location tonight to make the most of the reflections in those elusive pools of water that are not there too often. I’m there about 30mins shooting test shots, getting the focusing right, the framing and trying out some lighting effects. When my head torch is off - which is most of the time- it’s dark down there under the dual carriageway (video later).
Suddenly I get a start as a bulky silhouette lumbers down the embankment next to my location: a man with a small rucksack registers in my peripheral vision. I freeze. I stare hard at the figure. Where did he come from? Why is he here? What will he do? For a fraction of a second he pauses there and he could continue either way: left towards my position in the shadows, or right away from me to pass under the motorway. I hold my breath. He turns to the right, away from me and I remain stock still as I watch his shadow recede further away under the motorway. I stayed on another half hour but was not as relaxed as beforehand. Seldom do I meet people in these unusual locations but whenever I do it’s invariably memorable!

From professor to friend to now colleague, Mel has always been there for Jo.
From the time she took interest in the healing arts, to guiding her through work experience, and most recently joining her and Iain as a married couple.
Now Jo was back was back at Hogwarts on invitation from Headmistress O'Keeffe on an apprenticeship. Though she'd be splitting her time between the castle and the clinic in Hogsmeade, there was no way she'd give up the chance to learn under one of the best once more.

2 years, 2 months, and 2 days after Hurricane Katrina destroyed the Biloxi Bay Bridge, two lanes of the new bridge are finally opened!
Southern District Highway Commissioner, Wayne Brown (center) holds ribbons joining Biloxi with Ocean Springs. Instead of having a ribbon cutting, dignitaries joined ribbons signifying the 'reunion'. The Coast is once again reunited from the Alabama state line to the Louisiana State line.

Watching , Studying, monitoring, photographing these wonderful birds, I had the great pleasure today after 5 years of working with farmers landowners gaining permission to be part of the countryside, and watch these barn owl close up reunited after a winter apart, over this period of time many have witnessed images I post of owls, I am lucky that this site gives me the opportunity to place perches with clear back drops, to grab flight images of owls, without even taking any notice. I have learnt over this period how to work a site but it's all only come together a few times a year, thankfully 2023 has been so far that time.

Paddington is a bear from the UK, hand crafted in Merrythought, a British historical factory. The plush is mohair and the paws are made of cotton velvet.
It is a very nice hand crafted bear and I am very happy with it.

Sunday afternoon drama, Missy the neighbours cat has been stuck up a tree for two days and the fire service came to rescue her. It was her second misadventure this week. Earlier she managed to get stuck on a neighbours roof and the RSPCA were able to rescue her after 36 hours. I hope they put her on lock down.
