One of the coolest things you'll find on a nice vintage hot rod is pinstripping...like this red & yellow stipping on this flat black Chevy. This is the "art" that is a part of classic car restoration and customizing. Look for this the next time you come across a vintage hot rod...

A quiet moment in a neighborhood of Havana, Cuba, during an unexpected tropical rain. A young child stands in a doorway, sheltered from the downpour, watching the wet street and a vintage blue car parked across the road. The pastel buildings, barred windows, and nostalgic atmosphere capture the essence of everyday life in Havana. A spontaneous slice of Cuban street life on a rainy afternoon.
The third-generation Mustang was produced by Ford from 1979 until 1993. Built on Ford's Fox platform, it is commonly referred to as the "Fox body Mustang". It evolved through several sub-models, trim levels, and drive-train combinations during its production life. And, as you can see from the badge on the quarter panel behind the front tire, this is the version of the Mustang that garnered the nickname "five-oh" made famous in music lyrics from the late '80s and early '90s.

This is a completely different vehicle from the previous photograph but another perfect example of 'Rat Rod' ingenuity where parts are repurposed & can include non-automotive items like the wrench gear shifter, sign for a section of dash panel, old metal Quaker State oil can for a cup holder, and welded chain for a steering wheel. You can also see in this rat rod that some of the dash & the floor is made from diamond plate, there are no panels on the doors, and there is a fan mounted to the opposite 'c' post for cooling. Add in a few stickers and you have a complete interior for a unquestionable "Rat Rod".

“The car seemed alive as it was being modeled with its long hood, short deck, and sophisticated greenhouse. I could tell that Iacocca (Ford division general manager) was pleased by the sparkle in his eye and the way his cigar rolled around in his mouth.”

I really cool moment I captured while going to a local retro car event. The car of this company of old-timers seemed to have broken down. I really like how the lady is popping her head out to check how stuff are going.
I was really far away, with a not long enough lens, so I had to crop alot. Did not have time to get closer. Due to the low res, I edited the pic to look like an old film photo.
Shot with Nikon z50 with Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 @70mm.
The Mustang Grande was back for 1971 model year after its introduction in 1969 (and continued through 1973). This Mustang Grande option was only for the hardtop and consisted of a vinyl roof, plush interior with deluxe cloth high bucket seats, electric clock, interior trim panels with molded pull handles and arm rests, deluxe two-spoke steering wheel, color-keyed racing mirrors, full wheel covers, chrome metal rocker panel moldings, chrome metal wheel lip trim, and dual exterior paint stripes. It was considered the “fancy hardtop” Mustang and was not really changed for 1971 model year. The Grande had a deluxe interior similar to the Mach 1’s interior along with all the other additions listed above along with distinct Grande badges added to the C-pillars.
This is not a version of the Mustang that I've seen very often but it is very interesting. If you ever run across one...check it out closely to see all the unique upgrades inside and out.

Mustangs will always be my favorite when it comes to classic cars and the more unique they are, the more I tend to like photographing them...this '66 Mustang 2+2 Fastback definitely falls into that unique category and the silver paint with metal flake adds even more uniqueness! This was one of the best at this years 4th of July Car Show at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

......See newer picture......Wrap-around rubber bumpers protected the Sir Vival's bodywork from errant motorists in slow speed collisions but they were just one of Jerome's innovations. The Sir Vival was years ahead with seat belts, a padded interior, and built-in roll bars.
Auto safety has two parts: passive safety concerns passenger protection once a collision occurs, and active safety, or a car's ability to avoid accidents due to handling and braking qualities. Jerome focused only on passive safety, ignoring the fact that his car's awkward separation into dual modules necessitated complex handling.

Located in Dollywood’s Jukebox Junction area of the park, Lightning Rod is a roller coaster themed after a tricked-out 1950's-era hot rod. As part of the 'ambiance' just outside the entrance to the ride is this classic service station scene with the old Sky Chief gas pumps and some vintage hot rods like this 1930 Ford Customline (and the old Chevy in the background). A beautiful nod to setting a scene by a theme park to immerse their guests into a ride fully!
