I got this new construction kit for Christmas ... to build a camera model of 1030 parts takes some time!
Captured these vibes during yesterday's walk at Sanginjoki, Oulu. There's something unique about how the light hits the forest floor through the lens of a 15-year-old Canon Ixus 90 IS.
iPhone edit: iPhone 3GS camera, MonoPhix, CameraBag, DXP & Retro Camera as well as the frost texture photo I took of my frosted BBQ lid. FULL RES is this final result... For I used a different trick to then use the Retro Camera frame as a texture.

Not my grandpa's, but some old geezer probably holds this one near his heart.

Ancient Soviet colour film Svema DS-5M with ISO12. Good example of a messed-up exposure. The transfer to B/W turned out to be the only way to save at least something.

I have the German edition thanks to a very kind collector who had an extra copy.
In 1717-1719, the first two-story wooden church was built on Cross Hill at the beginning of the Zamorsky Highway. In May 1747, construction of a stone church began instead of a wooden one. Construction was completed by the winter of 1760.
The church gained its fame due to the unique decorative plastic facades. Rich and abundant ornamentation occupies the entire space of the exterior walls. The most complex patterns are created by a combination of simple geometric shapes, and there is a floral ornament. The drawing suggests the influence of the applied art of local nationalities.
It is the only church in Siberia in which the interiors of the XVIII century have been completely preserved. Strangely enough, their preservation was facilitated by the fact that after the church was closed in 1936, an anti-religious museum was housed in it. Museum staff saved the interior as "exhibits". And already in 1943, the temple was returned to the faithful.

With the rain coming down I figured I would take a few shots indoors. I put the Retro-Loox on a piece of black acrylic and took a few photos. I was intending to take the Retro-Loox out and photograph the Iris but I think that sunshine would produce a more retro looking image. So I will wait for another day.

I want to thank you all for taking the time to visit my little space here on Flickr.
Yesterday when I was watching TV, my kid came and told she wanted to show me something. Then she switched off all the lights and changed the TV channel to video mode and held this bugs bunny pillow. I was lucky to capture it immediately using the retro camera.
I have no thanksgivingy shots for you, so this'll have to do: a reminder that the Christmas season is officially underway! Hope you all have a terrific day.

I sketched out some plans for my first Film II assignment today while I was at work. Since I can't really shoot it until this weekend when I have daylight, I practiced the layouts that I plan on using to make sure my mind was seeing things that could actually be produced for the camera.

A beautifully preserved Yashica 635 twin-lens reflex camera displayed in a heritage setting. Introduced in the 1950s, the Yashica 635 became renowned for its versatility, capable of shooting both medium format and 35mm film. The warm tones, aged leather strap, and vintage surroundings help tell the story of an era when photography was a slower, more deliberate craft. Captured to celebrate the timeless design and enduring legacy of classic film cameras that helped shape modern photography.
A Petri 7s rangefinder camera, with a fixed 45mm f2.8 lens. The 7s was first introduced in 1963, and came in two models - a f1.8 and f2.8. This camera was manufactured around 1968.
The camera had Petri's "Green-o-Matic" system - you can see the green in the viewfinder - designed to make focusing easier and reduce eye strain. The camera also had a very useful small light meter built into the top, with the light drawn from a "selenium cell" arranged around the lens. Petri called this the "Circle-eye system", and it worked well - including metering compensation for filters screwed onto the lens.
This was my first film camera, and it was very enjoyable to use. However, a year or so after getting the camera, I inherited a SLR Pentax Spotmatic II camera and three Takumar lenses. The Petri (no slouch itself) was put away until re-discovered in a storage box recently....
