Today we celebrated my sister's birthday up at our parents house, though it's not until Tuesday. We celebrated with steak, cake, games and a Costco-sized container of cheese balls! My gift to her was a Flickr Pro account! She has become quite the photographer lately. I have blended one of my favorite shots of hers with my cheese ball photo that I took today! I was surprised and thrilled to spot these snake's head fritillaries growing on a much trodden area of grass in Anderton Nature Reserve. The only fritillary native to England, they like damp lowland meadows that have not been intensively farmed. As so much land is under intensive cultivation they have become quite rare.
