After having just recovered from an exhausting day with a bacterial infection, I was extremely careful with cleaning my retainer, but alas, all that care still led to me dropping my retainer on the ground, which if I haven't mentioned before, is full of yak dung!!! Really, yak dung is mostly good since it serves as the fuel that creates the only heat in the region but not when it's on your retainer!!! I didn't have any disinfectant on me so some brainstorming led to a three step cleanse. First we rinsed it in boiling hot water, then we followed this by a hand sanitizer rinse (it says it has 99.9% alcohol!) and we followed that up with another boiling hot water rinse. I didn't get sick again so I guess it worked!
As an aside, these are my super non-flattering fleece pants. I completely made fun of them in the store as my stuffed animal pants since they were plush fleece but I have to say, despite their plumping effect, they were so warm and I wouldn't travel without them in the mountains!

it's late..i'm tired..so i created this oddness. good night

So here I am, braceless!!! I go back in a couple of weeks to pick up my retainers, which I will be wearing for I don't know how long. Amos and I ate two big bowls of popcorn last night in celebration.
Hair color changed, teeth all nicely straightened. Now I just need to get my butt back to the gym. This weekend I hustled over to check out the brand new Cedar Park Recreation Center which opened recently. I've had a gym membership for around five years now, but it's been sadly underused lately. The rec center is about a five minute drive from home and mind-blowingly cheaper. Amos and I can get a Cedar Park Residents Couple Membership for $200 per year. That averages out to about $8 per person per month. The rec center has a track, cardio and weight machines and lockerrooms and showers. Just no pool (which I rarely used at the gym anyway).
So, I canceled my gym membership yesterday and on payday we are headed over to purchase our rec center membership. WOOHOO!!!
Tonight is water volleyball (a great form of exercise in itself, I might add).

Die-Tech Offroad Seat Retainer for 2007-2012 JK... on a 2014 JK. Doesn't quite fit right - a bit too long. However you can kinda force/slide it in place sideways and it will prop the seat up. Extremely well built, just not the right part for my jeep. Knew that going in to it, but figured i'd chance it since it had been out of stock for so long. Ruins of Castle Where Maeda Family of Kaga Clan Resided
In 1583, Lord Maeda Toshiie, who was Toyotomi Hideyoshi's first retainer, moved to Kanazawa. The Maeda family resided in Kanazawa Castle and governed the Kaga Clan (the present Ishikawa and Toyama areas) for more than 280 years henceforth. The castle tower was burned down by a fire in the past and has not been rebuilt, but other fortress buildings were reconstructed repeatedly. The Ishikawamon Gate, which was rebuilt in 1788, and the Sanjikken Nagaya (50-yard-long warehouse), which was rebuilt in 1858, still remain. Both of them have been designated as Japan's important cultural assets.
The place was used as a base of the Japanese army. Later, Kanazawa University used it as a campus. The place was repaired in 1996, and the Hishiyagura (diamond-shaped turret), Gojikken Nagaya (90-yard-long warehouse), and Hashizumemon Tsuzuki Yagura (turret protecting the nearby gate) were restored and the park opened.
In the time of the Maeda family, moats surrounded Kanazawa Castle. The castle had a fort function with loopholes for matchlocks on the outer wall to defend the castle from enemies. The beautiful white tiles that grace the roof are weathered lead and the wall is made of white mortar with flat tiles attached to it.
The stone walls vary in type with each place, and it is apparent that the stonewalls were built in separate periods. The stone walls include those built more than 400 years ago.
