Been enjoying my tafe holidays just working and what not. got some weddings i shot and should be editing but i went out and got more holes in me. =)
Trying to focus on mypiercing (not the nose) using my Sigma macro lens. NOT as easy as you would assume.
It's not a very thick ring, and was loose enough that after breaking it free, I used a dental pick to turn it, and remove it from the lens barrel.

These are scans of the all the shots I took in NYC, warts and all. Without a block of foam in the take-up spool cavity, the film unspools sometimes - the light leaks, top and bottom are an artifact of this issue when a loose roll of film is removed from the camera - I will fix this next time I change film.
The B&W shots are Acros 100, as-scanned, but I altered the color balance on the RGB on the color shots, decreasing the blue shift that Kodak Ektar suffers from during long exposures. Color is still distorted, and, I think, interesting.
Based in Brooklyn we made forays into Manhattan, visiting the Makerbot store, Grand Central Station, the Met, Central Park, The MoMA store, Washington park, Chelsea Waterside park, the subway (natch'), Museum of Nat. History, SoHo, NoHo, Saturdays, Found a fresh Bansky work (which I double exposed -drat), St Paul's at Ground Zero, the financial district, Chinatown, Many shots of Bushwick/Williamsburg, and a bunch of shots in and around the loft we rented. (gasp) busy trip!

Wladek is a Polish name, most of my figs have Polish names as a nod to my Polish blood. Wladek is pronouned "Vladek''. It's a reference to my grandfather, Wladyszlaw (Vladiswav) Who died several years ago.
Johannes was the name of my Dutch grandfather, who died in hospital last year. We all named him "Sjang", which was the Brabant pronounciation of his name.
So, in short, these two knights represent my grandfathers. They told me stories and adviced me, and now these two knights do the same for Lord Teherean.

That's what it is: A mounting retainer (is that the right wording?) for a cable release for the Pentax. ... You see, the Pentax has an IR port, and I got a cheap IR remote, but that one actually won't trigger the exposition bracket shots. So I bought this "universal cable release" that was supposed to be held in place with a velcro tape – which doesn't work at all and blocks pretty much all camera controls.
The element stayed in the retainer, so I just left it like that to keep from forgetting which side faces the rear.
Apart from the retainer which I have to wear for 6 weeks or so, everything is starting to recover--including my pride;)

Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, Part 1: Sin City.
I woke up this morning at about 7 AM and started packing (I've since realized I forgot my iPod & my retainers). I left the house at about 9 AM and headed to LAX. Security and whatnot didn't take too long, but while I was waiting I got a text from Orbitz that my flight had been delayed. I started to worry.
To make a long story short, my flight to Las Vegas ended up being delayed about 2 hours, causing me to miss my flight to DC. United quickly got me on a flight the following morning at 7AM. US Airways put me up in the Super 8 about a block from the strip and gave me meal vouchers. I walked outside to wait for my shuttle and it was FREEZING. I waited a few minutes and then called Super 8 to check I was in the right place. They said they would be there at 4:45. I checked my watch and it was 4:00. I bundled up and waited.
The shuttle finally arrived at 5:00. I got to the hotel and got right into my room. I headed next door to use my dinner voucher at Ellis Island. I headed back to the room, turned on the TV, and passed out within minutes. I woke up around 11PM and tried to go back to sleep, but failed. I got dressed and headed to the strip.
My plan was to get a drink, get a snack at Pink's, and maybe play some blackjack. After about a 20 minute walk, I arrived at Pink's, and I literally watched them close and lock the door for the night. I headed over to Fat Tuesdays and got a yard of 190 Octane. I headed down the strip, eventually ending up at Treasure Island. I played some blackjack, but I quickly realized Vegas just isn't that fun alone. I headed back.
On my way back, I tried to take a shortcut through the Venetian and got lost. I finally found my way out, but ended up the opposite direction from where I was supposed to be. While I was trying to re-orient myself, some Indian guy handed me his camera and asked me to take a picture. After that, he wanted another, and another, and another. I ended up taking a picture of him in front of every building in the immediate area. I shook him off and was on my way again. I got back to the hotel around 2AM, which left me about 2 and a half hours to nap before I had to head to the airport.

I lost my old retainers during the night between Melbourne and Geelong. This is my brand spankin' new one!
Edit: Who are you people viewing this? 360 hits on some plastic that I put into my mouth every night? You're all crazy.
