Its had a week in rice and it’s dry. It seems to work as in it works mechanically but I won’t know until I run film. It hit the bottom of the fountain so is there any impact damage? Does the selenium cell still work? I just don’t know. It should be simple but I’m hoping it works.
Like an open wound in the Earth, an unnatural gash it was. Remains and vile things weeping from the lesion. Tentacles sought out and gripped the cold grass. Something stood in the grave. The air held it's breath.
..."I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies..."- John 11:25
We had just pulled into Seward Alaska to camp for the night when I noticed that there was good sunset potential. I quickly ran around looking for a foreground object along the rocky shore of Resurrection Bay. This old stump was the best I could find in my haste. I put on an ND filter and took a long exposure to smooth out the rough water. Single image exposure, 13sec, f/18 ISO 50.
Snowdrops in St Nicholas Churchyard, Aberdeen city centre. The church is nicknamed the “Mither Kirk” (Mother Church) due to its age (it dates back to the 12th Century, with evidence of another church on the site before then). The churchyard is meant to be haunted by one of its occupants, but I’ve thankfully never met them!
EDIT: seriously, people? If you want to use my artwork on your blog or tumblr, then AT LEAST give me a notice that you're doing it, if you don't ask permission. That's just common courtesy and I won't bite you for asking. It's awful finding my work all over the place without even knowing it. Thank you.

I took my own challenge to make something as disgusting and dark as possible while still keeping it clean.
I know most of you don't like this type of stuff. But it reflects on my week and it was a good practice. And I like it, because it's foul and raw and is as it is. well, and I didn't have any time for another photoshoot and my project doesn't wait.
Thanks to all of you for your time, comments and favs. Truly appreciated..

Trop belle ma miss
Ssssshhhh....you cannot tell anyone I am on here. If my chiro knew he would chop my head off.
So after the Toblerone incident on not so good Friday last week, I had spent all day lying still on my sofa recovering. Because of that , when I did move, I pulled some muscle in my neck and my whole neck/arm were in agony all weekend as my chiro was not open until today - 3 days later due to the Easter Break. Oh I had so many things planned, I had been looking forward to these 4 days for so long, see friends, catch up on flickr , takes lots of shots etc. So I got to do nothing ....it hurt to sit at my computer and in chair - so I just lay still and watched netflix(newly arrived in Australia) - hours and hours and hours of Viking, Mad Men, you name it , I was watching it
I was talking Voltaren prescription triple doses and did not understand until I saw my chiro today that it is not a painkiller , will only work as anti-inflammatory when the muscle or bone or somethin' technical had been released. Thought I was at deaths door - as after so many doses , of what I believed to be 'painkillers', and I was still in so much pain - I thought the end was nigh !!! !. Had hot water bottle on my neck every night as I slept and did not understand until today when I saw my chiro that the worst thing you can do is put heat on a bad neck just before you sleep as it makes it worse !!!.
Oh I laughed when he told me all the mistakes I had made with my self medication and self diagnosed care over the long weekend.
So on the mend now - told by Magic Chiro Man to stay away from Mama Retina Imac for a couple of days - however I did not tell him I had a baby retina macbook which I have snuck on to quickly this evening whilst lying on the floor so I figure its okay to do so however suspect it is not ;))).
So a shot from many many moons again last winter to describe how I felt at the weekend to say that I too have now been re-surrected ;)))
Hope you all had a lovely Easter/Passover weekend -:)

John 11:25, The words of the Lord JesusChrist.
A blessed, Happy Easter to all!
This sea otter was spotted in Resurrection Bay just offshore from on of the islands lining its eastern side. This is their normal way of passing time - they lie on their backs and paddle themselves along. Occasionally they will dive for a clam or oyster, then settle back on their back to open and eat it.

For all of us, there are probably lyrics from songs that remain with us always regardless of the passing of time. Long ago, there was a somewhat obscure Cream song entitled "World of Pain" which posed the question, "Is there a reason for today?" While the song didn't answer the question, I think a vision of this type goes a long way toward suggesting some possibilities.
A very Happy Easter to you all...
A time lapse of thoroughly frozen (16 F, -9C) pansies unfurling to 'life' in the relative warmth of the day.
It was if the sky were saying today, that all heaven was celebrating Resurrection day! -taken in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.
Resurrection II
Taken on a spontaneous sunset shoot. I was a litte to late to this location but the blue hour provided material for an interesting enough shoot. I also got to test out my new remote trigger! It worked brilliantly! And I am very happy with it.
This image was taken on my favorite old windsurf spot. I cannot count the times I have been on (and in) these waters...
Shot with my Formatt Hitech IRND 10-stopper and had an exposure of 417 seconds....

Victorian Stained glass in the parish church of St Michael, Bray, Berkshire. This is the work of H Hughes and depicts, left to right, the three Marys at the Tomb, the Ascension and the Miraculous Draught of Fishes. It dates from 1863 and is dedicated to Walter Lebett who died in 1860
One of my favorite Florida native volunteers ... when it gets rained upon, it resurrects! When it doesn't, it's all gray and dead looking.

The low clouds in both pictures speaks to the weather we had while in Seward. Beautiful spot nevertheless!
