The Church of the Nativity on the territory of the Resurrection New Jerusalem Monastery is a stauropegial monastery of the Russian Orthodox Church in the city of Istra, Moscow Region.
It was founded in 1656 by Patriarch Nikon, according to whose plan a complex of holy places in Palestine was to be recreated near Moscow.
The Church of the Nativity of Christ was built at the direction of Tsarevna Sofya Alekseevna, who visited the monastery in 1685 for the consecration of the "great newly built stone church." Its construction lasted from 1686 to 1692. The church building adjoins the Refectory on the east side.

'Resurrection' was an attempt to create a composite image using both my black and white and color photographs.
is the only existing gate of the Kitai-gorod in Moscow. It connects the north-western end of Red Square with Manege Square and gives its name to nearby Voskresenskaya Square (Resurrection Square). The gate adjoins the ornate building of the Moscow City Hall to the east and the State Historical Museum to the west. Just in front of the chapel is a bronze plaque marking kilometre zero of the Russian highway system.
It’s been a long while since I’ve been confronted with these monsters, but I still have a few I can resurrect from the depths of my catalog.
Another liverwort image, in which I tried to use some primulas as foreground bokeh. Even though I'm not super religious, Easter time reminds me of the resurrection and to me this liverwort looks like it's resurrected after the cold winter time. Hope you like it!
