Before you scroll away from this feisty beauty, be assured that this is no ordinary cat. This is a Scottish Wildcat (aka the Highland Tiger!) and this shot was taken mid hiss. This breed of cat is absolutely feral and doesnt tolerate patting, stroking or general nearness to him. He's called McTavish and whilst I respectfully keep my distance, I admire him from afar...

Sadly at risk of extinction in Scotland... Photographed with love at British Wildlife Centre

So cute but I can so see how majestic he will become too. Photographed at Port Lympne where I had the honour of his presence, spending 10 minutes reasonably close whilst his siblings played near momma Oudrika. He was hissing at some children who hadn't quite learned to be respectful near wild animals.

Although these wild turkeys appear to be hurrying away from the rambunctious fawn, they did not move far and actually did not appear to be very intimidated. When the fawn first approached the turkeys, it seemed to do so carefully and respectfully; but then it began feeling its "oats," bucking into the air and making moves on the turkeys. It was a lot of fun to watch this interaction and I took a lot of photos. However, the "contrasty" light and "messy" background made it hard to get a good image.

Thank you www.flickr.com/photos/dorchesterdorset/ (Tranter Dewy) for researching and enlightening me.....this is the white marble tomb of Abraham Blackleech Gent who died in 1639 and his wife Gertrude. The tomb is situated at the east end of the north aisle in Gloucester Cathedral. According to an article in the British Library the two recumbent effigies are most likely by Samuel Baldwin, and are of good quality with carefully carved hands, faces and costumes.

At their feet is this inscription:-

To the happy Memorie of Abraham Blackleech Gent. Sonne of William Blackleech, Esq. a Man not only generally beloved in this Life, but deservedly endeared to Posterity, by rare Examples of seldom'd pattern'd Piety expressed in his Bounty, to Saint Paul's in London, to this Church, to the Highways about, and the Poor in this City ----- Who laying aside the vileness of Mortalitie, was admitted to the glory of eternity.

Isla Corazón is part of Lake Mascardi, where I saw Cerro Tronador, which is the highest peak in the Park: 3,491 meters above sea level and has seven glaciers. However, I was there to find out how and why an island in the middle of that arm is called Heart.

This small piece of land in the middle of crystal clear and turquoise water is wrapped in a legend that involves two feuding indigenous communities and two young men, sons of caciques, in love: one of each. They fall in love and decide to escape, understanding that this decision would not be well received: a kind of Romeo and Juliet of our lands, one could say, with a different but equally tragic ending.

Once they flee, their communities begin their search and subsequent capture: they wanted to be free and enjoy their mutual love; when they realized there was no escape, they began to swim across Lake Mascardi, trying to reach the other shore. The arrows began to sink into the water but nevertheless they reached them and the young men, embraced, died in the lake. In this way, the legend tells, the heart-shaped island, Piuké Huapi, arose.

But, despite this version, there are those who disagree with it, with more or less arguments. There are those who cannot find a “coherent” answer to the name because the shape cannot be seen: it should be noted that the island can be seen from different points, one of them is from the route that leads to Cerro Tronador; another, which already implies more physical effort, is from the Isla Corazón viewpoint, which can be reached after a walk of -minimum- three hours one way and another three hours back.

Another renames the island Chalía, in homage to a girl named Rosalía who was born there many years ago. Clarisa Montenegro, huerquen of the Lof Wiritray, clarifies it. National Parks gives it that name, although she clarifies that it "also has to do with love" because it is through a beautiful memory and declaration of love, such as births.

“We are very respectful of the history that our ancestors who lived in this place told us,” adds Clarisa. Julio Gallardo, Clarisa and Ester Treuque, Lucia and Ester Rauque, Victoriano, Juan Inalef and Cipriano Inalef were the relatives of that woman who was born on the island.”

The love, the disagreements, the name: everything reveals to tourists and neighbors the magic and the profound history of the place for the enjoyment of the family, with friends or as a couple, and in any season of the year: a lake that at times it is turquoise, for others with green tones and others bluish. A mental photograph in each step that is taken. Isla Corazón is there, waiting for us to honor those who were born there or to understand that love does not understand enmities between families or tribes, it is simply love.

Trees are living energy. They are wise. She asked me to see her and listen. I did. They have seen and heard unknown many many things.. I was in the mountains, struggling to find my way around in a 20 year old car that was my father so long ago. All the cars had to come to a stop and wait for the construction.. incredible mountains could be seen and this tree demanded I look at it so I did, and I respectfully took a photo fascinated by this tree

A short drive up the very steep Flagstaff mountain brought us to Lost Gulch Overlook, which offered incredible views spanning from Nederland to the jagged, snow-capped peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park.

This was a popular place for sunset and engagement photos in the city of Boulder, perhaps you still remember this Lost Gulch Engagement Photoshop, taken about six minutes before this one.

There were many people watching the sun go down, but everyone was quiet and respectful. We all stayed for a little longer hoping for an afterglow but there just wasn't one.

I went for a lighthouse but it was the long forgotten shed that I was enamoured with. It overlooked a valley and in the distance you could just barely see the cold Atlantic. The shed was a mess, broken and battered, but it held a respectful authenticity of belonging that can't be created, only earned - Come as you are.

Created for the "Award Tree" Groups challenge, "Autumn Diptychs".

Very early on a beautiful, idyllic, October morning I set out to "get" some Autumn shots. This particular park, Craigleigh Gardens, always yields up some wonderful images for me. I particularly love this gate to the western entrance.

Craigleigh Gardens is in a very exclusive neighbourhood called Rosedale and has always been for me a very special place. Every single time I come here, anyone who's there, usually walking dogs in the early morning sunshine, always says "hello" and "good morning".

No one seems to mind the wacky photographer waving his iPhone around in the air. Because of who the Rosedale residents are I think they're quire respectful of art and so they often smile and occasionally ask me what I'm doing. All with respect and genuine interest. It's quite striking for a city that's known for its Impersonality on the streets.

There is a calm here, a dignity and a wonderful atmosphere of welcome and civility. Would that the whole city was like this.

Summer look of Kung Wiman beach. It is a popular selfie place with tourrists and locals. Lots o restaurants and souvenier shops with attractive and reasonable prices. You will find this place of worship by the beach as locals believing them to be gods who protect them from natural disasters and bad luck. In Thai culture, all religious images are regarded as sacred no matter how old they are and located at. Old traditions and superstitions play an important role in day to day life in Thailand. My Office : NATURE

My Tripod : A STONE

I was three days out of the world or rather: inside the world !! That real world that surrounds us that exists around us but that we have totally forgotten. Three days without work without TV and smartphone just the minimum to communicate with the family the night before going to sleep. Three days in nature in silence admiring the world that hosts us, the land that allows us to move from one point to another, drinking spring water from the mountains with still little snow on the peaks, breathing the oxygen of ancient trees in forests uncontaminated between the sound of birds and the sound of the branches shaken by the wind, meeting the footprints of deer and bears in the mud.

We have forgotten that we are tiny creatures in a huge living ecosystem, we are a small cog that must be collaborative and respectful because we are not the masters of this world but only a tiny infinitesimal part.

A juvenile tree swallow (I think) surveys its surroundings from atop a piece of tube framing for a tent structure. There were quite a few "juvies" that hung around this area, and every night when we walked by they happily posed for us, unafraid of our getting closer (still from a respectful distance) for a better look to observe their cuteness.

Thanks you so much for your views and comments!

Palazzo Mincuzzi located on one of the main streets of Bari and it is owned by the merchant family, the Mincuzzi who inaugurated their studio in 1928.

Located in the Napoleonic quarter Murat on the corner between Via Sparano and Via Putignani, its project, in delicate and refined Style Liberty, is due to the architect Aldo Forcignanò, who conceived an effective and extremely scenic corner solution.

The façade of the building is made up of a succession of columns, beaded pilasters, Ionic capitals, masks, and, above, there is the monumental family banner. The interior, one of the most striking examples of Southern Italy Art Nouveau style, includes a monumental staircase and it is all illuminated by the glass dome that dominates the building.

Over time the Palazzo Mincuzzi has become the symbolic place of Bari and one of the most prestigious shops in Bari. In 2001, however, the Mincuzzi family decided to close an era and rent its building to the clothing company of Luciano Benetton.

After the change of ownership, many people feared the distortion of what for all the Baresi had always been a symbol of a history of trade and cultural exchanges. However, on the building, the Superintendent of artistic heritage has supervised and still supervises: the external and internal architecture has remained intact, absolutely respectful of the Art Nouveau style.

Today, May 28, 2018, is Memorial Day in the U.S. I wish I could come up with a fitting and respectful rationale for posting this photo of Ms. Snowy today, aside from the fact that she is sitting in our local cemetery, but I can't. I can and do offer my thanks to those of you who have served in any branch of the armed services.

I am not at all religious but I find rosaries so beautiful. I did try to shoot it in a respectful manner as I know this means a lot to a lot of people.

After seeing the sunrise and viewing the Ganges River from afar, our boat man turned our small row boat toward the very busy banks of the river. I now saw the familiar colorful hustle and bustle of India. This was the busiest part of the river scene, but despite the crowd, people seemed respectful of why everyone journeyed to the sacred river. Within the crowd, there was a feeling of calm and reverence.

Dan Deacon does a great deal of audience participation type things at his shows and one thing he does is split up the audience down the center into two parts but instead of a "Wall of Death" where people run at and hurt each other, it is a "Wall of Life" where people just give each other high fives and I guess hugs if they want (he urged everyone to be respectful of personal space). Anyway, this was right before the other side advanced and I crawled underneath some legs and got out lol.

A very wary Osprey finally “threw caution to the wind” and took a bath, which included plenty of splashing in between nervously looking around.

I had an amazing trip to Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Newfoundland was just amazing with stunning landscapes, incredible birds and beautiful people. This photo was taken at the Elliston Puffin Viewing site where the birds nest on Bird Island. If you are patient and respectful the birds can fly over to where you sit. They do so to collect nesting material. It was one of those magical pinch you moment you never forget. The way they run and waddle is so cute. It was a dream of mine and my mother's to get to NFLD. I so wish she could of gone with me before she passed away but I carried her in my heart through the whole journey.

The colony also contained nesting Black Guillemots and Common Murres, Black-legged Kittiwakes and Razorbills. I also saw Northern Gannets flying around. After visiting this colony we went to the colony at Cape Bonavista Lighthouse and then had a delicious breakfast at Mifflin's Tea Room where we had fresh partridgeberry jam. I'm excited to share more of my travels with you as I work through my photos.

I was watching a pair of these beautiful birds in my backyard, the female would jump on the suet cage have a bite and fly back to a branch on the tree. After she made a few trips back and forth the male did the same. I thought how lovely and refreshing to see they are taking turns, after watching Pine Siskins and Juncos it was a nice change to see a species being respectful to each other. Ha that didn't last long the female made one trip too many and the male attacked her.

Mom flew back and forth a few times to get a feel for what we were up to. We set up our gear a respectful distance from the nest, and once we settled in I think she decided that we didn't pose a threat. Forest Park in St Louis, Missouri

I've been "accused" that I do repost my images (I'm doing that a bit lately) to gain more visibility and to have more chance to get explore (that is wrong, reposted images will never do explore). What's wrong to get more visibility? There is a debate with the person (in italian language) on my last post and I'm asking back the lady if she do follow all here contacts (4510) and if not what is the purpuse to have so many contacts (wanted here to ask herself what is the right way)? She answered it was her business and I answered back it's my business how I interact here on flickr (afterwad I've been blocked from her flickr site and the debate which I also posted on one of her picture got delated).

The world is big and various and let's all have respect on how other people behave as long we all follow the rules and are respectful.

I've seen the attitude from many that are using the "block" button very easily giving more time to block other who put only a fav and not a comment (for example) then to follow their contact uploads.

What I want to say: lets just relax and respect others. There is a saying in Italy "Fatti gli affari tuoi e campi 100 anni" which means "mind your own business and you'll live 100 years"

And that's it. Hey folks just don't bother so much on how different the world is outside your comfy area couse the world is that way. If we all bother less there wouldn't be so many wars outside there.

Judgement was solemnly passed...

''You are not from these lands and have been found guilty of terrorising and killing the local wildlife''

''How do you plead?''

The evidence was overwhelming and the Mink knew it...

''Guilty your honour''

''Then you shall be sentenced to death by metal trap., have you anything to say?''

''Yes I do'' said the Mink

There was a stunned silence in the courtroom., what could the Mink possibly say?

''Respectfully., it's you who are guilty of of putting me here in these lands., all I do is what comes naturally to me.. What do you expect me to do? Starve to death?''

The judge stopped to think for a moment...

''Well I think we'll just ignore all of that., the truth can be a bit inconvenient at times and there's no point in complicating things...

Put him in the metal trap and kill him anyway''

''Next case?''

''Red Squirrel complaining about being evicted by imported Grey Squirrels your honour''

I love the multiple uses and strong connection of the people to the Ganga - it was amazing to see but at times I felt like I was crashing their party - it was almost like it was their most precious holiday and I had a front row seat. But hopefully I have accurately and respectfully documented their connection.

For a few years I've tracked these two Bald Eagles from February through June/July as they bring new kids to life. They've kept me entertained with respectful as well as utterly hilarious routines. In this image they've just returned to their home nest, tidied up and made room for the brood (usually two eaglets).
