Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial.

This photograph perhaps fits into the "minimalist" category, with

certainly nothing extraneous or busy intruding into the composition. But what elements are here stopped me in my tracks with respect to their quality and subtlety. This was a very wide-open and free-spirited scene and, with the sun having set only minutes earlier here, the light was just too lovely to pass up.

So, pass it up I did not, nor would it have been wise or prudent

to do so.

This little pond is just on the outskirts of the charming town known as Burkittsville, Maryland, with the Potomac River and the Virginia state line only about six or seven miles south of this location. Before moving to Montana in 2016, I lived in northern Virginia near the town of Taylorstown, skirting Catoctin Creek, and spent 16 years in an old farm house surrounded by a landscape much like this one. A bit more of the rolling hills feature in the landscape there, however.

By me in Second Life but this time, with an impressive artist help !

I tried to do with a lot of respect for the spirit of her work and I hope she gonna like it.

Usually I decide the background and the lights. I haven't done this time !

Usually I put a song here. I won't do this time !

Today I would like to speak about a great SL artist, Bryn Oh !

She is brillant so creative and a wonderful story teller. Her world has something like a Tim Burton's world but with more sensibility and so poetic.

You want to know more about her ?

she is HERE

You gonna become addict !

One afternoon we decided to get our lazy butts in gear and go for a snowshoe hike up the La Cloche Silhouette Trail. This particular trail is ordinarily a 7-9 day hike. However, there is supposed to be a picturesque lake just a couple of hours into the trail, so we thought it might be fun to go check it out.

Unfortunately, about an hour into our hike, we encountered this! The previous night there had been a thunder storm. That, plus the warmer temperatures earlier in the week, meant that things were starting to thaw.

If you look carefully at the tree dead centre of the photo top, you might happen to see a blue marker. That is the trail marker. Yup. We had to decide whether to press on or, well, what? We decided to take it as a sign of ‘you shall not pass!’ (Gandalf ~ from Lord of the Rings). So, instead, we thought we’d see if we could navigate our way off path to the edge of [the top of] George Lake since we could see it in the distance through the trees.

Paxton Pits Nature Reserve is a lovely Nature Reserve in Cambridgeshire rich in wildlife including Kingfishers.

Unfortunately, some people do not respect Nature and don't seem to understand that a little act like discarding a plastic bottle in nature could have dire consequences on the wildlife.

Detail of the graffito "Respect for everyone" (Respekt für jeden) by the artist trompe.

Flyover, Breitenbachbrücke.

Frankfurt, Germany

Weird enough some people think they can get respect by using violence.. I'm glad i never tried that so I got my respect by being myself and have faith in humanity.. With this (old and fake) gun I tried to say, how old (gun) or young (hand) you are doesn't matter, but show respect to eachother!!

At the sametime, when you use product with respect it will last longer.. The gun is old, (rust and stuff) but it still works! (Smoke)..

Diversity: the art of thinking independently together.

Malcolm Forbes

When power leads man toward arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy

Real cultural diversity results from the interchange of ideas, products, and influences, not from the insular development of a single national style.

Tyler Cowen

Today when I think about diversity, I actually think about the word 'inclusion.' And I think this is a time of great inclusion. It's not men, it's not women alone. Whether it's geographic, it's approach, it's your style, it's your way of learning, the way you want to contribute, it's your age - it is really broad.

Ginni Rometty

We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.

Max de Pree

What I'm trying to do is get a change in the mindset so people move from a level of mere tolerance to total acceptance and eventually to celebrate diversity. If you feel comfortable with one another, it doesn't matter whether we live in which neighbourhood but we can interact with one another freely. It's a mindset.

Najib Razak

Diversity on the bench is critical. As practitioners, you need judges who 'get it!' We need judges who understand what discrimination feels like. We need judges who understand what inequality feels like. We need judges who understand the subtleties of unfair treatment and who are willing to call it out when they see it!

Debbie Wasserman Schultz

We need to reject any politics that targets people because of race or religion. This isn't a matter of political correctness. It's a matter of understanding what makes us strong. The world respects us not just for our arsenal; it respects us for our diversity and our openness and the way we respect every faith.

Barack Obama

Right now, when we're hearing so much disturbing and hateful rhetoric, it is so important to remember that our diversity has been - and will always be - our greatest source of strength and pride here in the United States.

Michelle Obama

Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I was told I was not permitted to take photos during any part of the ceremony. Usually I'd respect that, but in this case I interpreted it as "don't let us notice you are taking pictures during the ceremony." Thusly,,,

Respect de l'hygiène non garantie…

Mega respect to the drivers during the past year who have kept running through everything that the past 12 months of chaos has been. Lothian brought in this lot of new buses in January having been sitting around for a while as I am still to ride on them I will not make any comments but they do look nice still missing what they replaced at the moment though. Here at the entrance to Newhailes woodland is Lothian buses 72 on the usual 30 to Clovenstone.

I always have the highest respect to creative minds, no matter the field. As Einstein said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

Now, I am not sure I agree with the Great Mind, Knowledge is paramount, but I'll let it slide, just this once...

First of all this is not my image and I take no credit for it. This is a one minute Commercial by Annheuser-Busch where 8 huge Clydesdale horses bowed in respect for the 20th Anniversary of 911. In case you missed it the full one minute video is HERE

At this time of year I always like to post photos as a way of showing my respect to those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Taken at a local war memorial it was nice to see a father and daughter also sharing that respect.
