The 1913 Harry F. Lambert House is a Tudor Revival structure designed by Lynchburg, Virginia architect Stanhope Johnson. It's located at 2135 Rivermont Avenue. The columns framing the entrance are a signature of architect Johnson. To the side of each grouping of columns is a roofless wood porch. The entrance consists of a single door with sidelights and an arrangement of transoms above. Built on a raised foundation, the bottom story uses cedar shingles while the second level is stucco and half-timbering. The upper sashes of the windows are multi-pane. On both stories and the roof the narrow windows are arranged in triplets. Extending outward from the upper level are two partial gable roof dormers. The 2,671 square foot home had three bedrooms and 3 baths. The Lambert House is a part of the Rivermont Historic District, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places April 11, 2003 with an addition on May 28, 2013. The NRHP identification number is #03000224. The updated nomination form is found at www.dhr.virginia.gov/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/118-0334_...

The Rev. William Rutkowski, Vicar General for the Diocese of Saginaw, celebrated Respect Life Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw. The event marks the 42nd anniversary of the Respect Life educational program in the Diocese of Saginaw, which was started by the Catholic bishops of the U.S. in October 1972. The Respect Life Mass allows an opportunity for the Church to focus on life issues.

Each sport demands it's own respect and dedication. A baseball bat is to a batter what the katana was to a samurai.

I have always admired the true majesty and the uniqueness of tigers. Had a chance to see them again at six flags.

The tiger in the picture is called Kisa and is a Amur tiger. I did some post processing to blacken out the background.

Photo story:

I needed some outdoors time after work and took my camera even though it was hot outside in the sunset and spotted some birds in flight to feel free like them. This was almost dark at night. I was kind disapointed by the Nikon D500 AF accuracy at so low light level. Much hesitation of the AF. The Pentax K3-II I tried past year before buying the D500 was way better at this regard. Impressive details at ISO-25.600 and so so very low light. Much noise, sure, but much detail too. NO NR applied. (Would like to see how Topaz Denoise AI works here)

Walk for Peace, Friendship and Respect

From one of the call-outs:

"The time has come to stand together and respect the words of our ancestors, to call for our treaties to be honored, and to bring together our communities and allies to celebrate the principles of Peace, Friendhsip, and Respect.

All are welcome!"

The names on the VietNam War Memorial represent those who gave their lives selflessly for our freedoms. Whether we agree with the war and it's reasons/outcome, let us honor the ones who honored us with their lives.

One of my favorite images from my last trip. The light was flat and gray, but this shot came out perfectly. The idea was to focus on the reflections and to get the real people in a soft focus really added to the concept.

Mandate trade union members gathered in Mallow in Cork to call on shoppers in the North Cork area to refrain from using verbal and physical abuse against retail workers. They called on the public to support a new campaign launched by Mandate trade union called Respect Retail Workers in Market Square, Mallow, Co.
