The Rev. William Rutkowski, Vicar General for the Diocese of Saginaw, celebrated Respect Life Sunday, Oct. 5, at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw. The event marks the 42nd anniversary of the Respect Life educational program in the Diocese of Saginaw, which was started by the Catholic bishops of the U.S. in October 1972. The Respect Life Mass allows an opportunity for the Church to focus on life issues.
The ACU Respect residential school took place from 18-21 December 2017 at Heriot-Watt University
Malaysia.
Building on the ACU's Respect campaign, the residential school brought together 30 student leaders
from over 20 Commonwealth countries, to help them develop tools to promote and support respect and
understanding in their institutions and beyond.

The Seagull School
(God Speaking To Anne Terri Through The Holy Spirit)
Anne Terri and Carlo Ferdinando have a strong affinity with all animals, especially birds. This past year, has been difficult where they live, for the coast is being challenged by severe weather patterns, and the need to protect the village where they live from flooding. This has caused major renovations to the promenade and affected the wildlife, especially the Seagulls.
Knowing how Anne and Carlo study the language of birds, I Brought to them this summer, a good sized colony of seagulls, who now live on the roof just behind their terrace. I Gave the gulls My Voice, to Say a few words and simple sentences which have meaning for both them and for Anne and Carlo to listen to. They speak very quickly and have many nuances in their language, for each has a purpose. The war cry from the roof top sentry who sites atop the chimney is typical, for it means an invader who is not welcome. It sounds like the word Help! However, this is their own language. The 'H' sound is easy for them to say.
I Having Power over their flight, I Directed a not stop airshow over the terrace for 20 minutes yesterday, while Anne made effort to read a book. It was loud in gull language, so she found reading difficult. Instead, she chose to interact and speak back to them by answering in their own dialect. They are comfortable with Anne and Carlo on the terrace, and have not made any approach towards them in alert. It has been also noted that they announce their arrival when flying in from another area to the colony. At this time, Anne and Carlo have heard these words and sentences.
'HouseThis is our House. (Possession of roof property)Our House.Ha Ha Ha, Ha Ha Ha Ha. (The fly over greeting)Hawk! (High pitched screaming of fear to warn colony)Trust in God. (A gull with a special gift, to speak in his voice box, has learned this)If you can hear this, I Am Jesus.' (This sentence is very familiar to Anne, for she has heard it spoken also by crows, and a dog. This is done in short, rapid, clipped words.)
All other language, remains as their original dialect for the area.
There are babies in the colony, and these will remain as their youth for the next four years. The adults teach them everything they need to know. They do not fly well, and have different feather colors than their parents. They are very easy to approach, and this could make them vulnerable to prey.
Even though this colony loves to beg french fries and such from the local tourists, it is advisable not to feed them. They need to learn how to forage for their own fish, and other grains found in the farm land behind the coast.
Anne and Carlo have taken photos for your enjoyment. This mornings Seagull School is at the top.
This is a Blessed moment for bird and human. If you encounter such a gift, show Respect, for after all it is their environment.

kind of funny that after the first 2, which appeal to some sort of sense of decency and goodness, the last sign is basically saying "and if you still don't give a shit, there's cops watching you, so..."

I respect Margit deeply. An enduring optimist, she embodies the philosophies of “if you go with the flow all you need comes to you” and “don’t sweat the small stuff”. Her life and struggle with mental illness has been complex. A life which may have hardened others, refined Margit into the brave and loving woman she is.
She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in her 30’s. Medication quickly stabilized her and kept episodes away for decades. Then in a profound twist of fate her husband was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He was highly symptomatic and impossible to reason with. In an effort to protect her daughter from a home of strife & arguing, Margit made the “world ending” decision to divorce her husband. Over time she began to drink to deal with her stress. Lead by her mental illness she also quit her job, not being able to give anyone an explanation for her decision. She began having severe hallucinations in her late 50’s and couldn’t recognize the loving family members’ she’d lived with since quitting her job. This led to a specialty mental health team, called the CAT Team, assessing her. She was hospitalized for a week and a half and put on new medications. She was successfully stabilized for a second time in her life after going through the trauma of hallucinations.
But at this point, the stress was too profound for her to return home. Margit’s mother cared full-time for her husband ailing from Alzheimer’s. This led to Margit’s homelessness and her journey from the CAT team assessment, to the hospital, to an organization called Tree House. Margit was then referred by a case worker to a residential women’s shelter in Orange County. She’s been waiting two years for a housing voucher (likely to a care-home) with her classic patience. Currently, she struggles with becoming disoriented in public and at home. And yet, Margit is one of the funniest & kindest people. She makes my life better with every interaction we have. She’s a true original and one of the slickest dry humorists I know. Her spirit lights up the shelter.
She has an enduring resilience and inner-stillness taught to her by the challenges of her life. She’s a Survivor and Joy-Giver.

En France, on estime à environ un million le nombre de chiens divaguants. Les témoignages et les preuves concrètes d’attaques sur des troupeaux domestiques (et même sur des gens !) ne manquent pas. Cette problématique est connue et bien réelle,....
