Respect League is a not-for-profit group of junior football clubs that have come together to give children the best possible start in football. The League is leading the way in fully implementing The FA's vision for children's football and there whole approach is more child-centered and age-appropriate than traditional Leagues.

They give children the ideal environment to accelerate their learning. The FA have awarded them Charter Standard status and they've won the coveted Bronze Award as the best League in the whole county !

The referees are trained to 'manage' the game rather than just blow a whistle. This means they're talking to the players throughout, encouraging them, advising and helping them to avoid foul play. It's calm, safe and fun. Oh, and the football is fantastic!

Much love and respect to Lexus and Drive Shop for blessing Automotive Rhythms with the exotic 2018 Lexus LC 500h (Hybrid) Touring for the long Thanksgiving holiday week. Our Nightfall Mica hued Japanese coupe performed admirably on the drive from Maryland to our hometown in South Jersey (Camden to Voorhees) as we arrived in style and with grace. The $100,295 Hybrid LC is enhanced with 20” forged aluminum rims, a Mark Levinson 13-speaker audio system (perfect our new Apple Music roots rock reggae playlist) 10.3” navigation screen, Intuitive Park Assist, a glass roof, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Full Speed Range which was on point when we wanted to chill behind the wheel. Feels good coming home!

On 22 July 2011 Anders Behring Breivik killed 78 people with a car bomb in Oslo and a shooting on the island of Utøya. It shocked the nation, not only in Norway. In the two weeks after the attacks I travelled in Scandinavia and saw flowers and cards everywhere. I want to share this out of respect for the people in Norway.

Not sure who this is or where the irony is aimed. Potentially sketchy.

The Atlas moth (Attacus atlas) is also known as the Cobra moth due to the wing tips resembling that of a cobras head, thought to be a way of warding off predators.

They have up to a ten inch wingspan and are found in Asia from India to the Philippines and south to Indonesia. It belongs to the family Saturniidae, or giant silkworm moths, which has a worldwide distribution and the females are larger and heavier than the males. It's short lifespan is between one and two weeks.

OK, OK!!!

Punahou won and they deserve all the respect and glory they worked hard for the whole year. They were stacked to the rim with talent across the field and I'm sure we'll hear some familiar names as their collegiate careers grow.

But I am a Mule, Leilehua Class '87 and the rest of my story will be pro LHS. Besides, we'll be happy for now at #2 after being #1 since last year.

Not bad at all....

With all ego aside, I've decided to post some shots that I found were good enough. About a week before this game I dropped my camera bag and my camera is very close to being used for parts. It's lost it's auto focus ability, I get 'ERR' messages every few shots, and it has trouble controlling the aperature.

Still, I'm honored to be able to post these shots I hope you can enjoy.

...and this this kid Andrew Manley QB #8 is going to be a great impact player next year. He's only a Junior and he's led LHS to the Championship game 2 years in a row winning once. I'm excited for next year to roll around. My cousin Kalua Ellis #44 and nephew Kekoa Ascencio #77 will be seniors along with Andrew. I can't wait for them to be back on top again.

An artist I admire and respect..

I first became aware of Bob Lansing's artistry during a brief stop at the Cameron Trading Post in 2010. I didn't much like this tourist trap, and could'nt wait to leave, but not before visiting the small gallery they have on the premises.

That was the first time I encountered the amazing pottery and artistry skills of Navajo artist Bob Lansing. I had NO idea who he was; did not know he was Navajo; never expected to meet him; did not know ANYthing about him - yet here I was gazing at some amazing and intricate pottery - the likes of which I'd never seen before: BEAUTIFUL and INTRICATE carving detail through painted layers of kiln fired, handmade pottery - all carved and incised by hand (no lasers!). The amount of detail and artistry just blew my mind. I know artistry, quality, and talent when I see it. Alas, I couldn't afford any of the prices, but I filed this artist's name in the back of my mind, in the hopes that I may encounter his artwork again someday. Even though I couldn't afford anything in that gallery, I came away with the feeling that there are things in life which are just meant to be admired, gazed and reflected upon - instead of owning.

So anyways, flash forward a few years later to this point, where surprise, surprise - as I was browsing through the stalls and kiosks of the Four Corners, who should I come upon, but none other than the artist himself! I was overcome with joy and delight to encounter this man at work on his craft - and the creator of all those beautiful vases and pottery that I saw at the Cameron Trading Post years back.

I felt happy that I met this man; and came away satisfied that I now had two memorable encounters locked in my memory forever: that of a Navajo artist and his incredible art.
