Experimenting with different layer sizes on the Bowden Replicator. Layers sizes from the left at 8 microns, 10 microns, and 20 microns. I'm still working out the correct feed rates and speeds for these settings. It looks like 10 microns is possible, and 8 microns might be a little bit too greedy.

Capturing astronomical images during moments of good seeing is tough. This comparison shows two images shot on the same night with the same equipment just minutes apart. The image on the left measures 1.61 arcseconds per pixel FWHM. The image on the right measures 2.45 arc seconds per pixel FWHM. Visual comparison shows tighter stellar images and fainter stars in the image on the left which was captured during a moment of exceptional seeing.
The images are each single 3 minute exposures of Messier 2. They have been dark and flat corrected. No other processing was performed.
I resolve to try a new recipe each week from one of the many cookbooks I seem to have gathered and never used.
First on the list? Chocolate Key Lime Pie!

There also will be a press conference Tuesday, June 23rd at noon on the steps of City Hall before the Board of Supervisors votes on Ross Mirkarimi's resolution of support for democracy in Iran
