After many request on my Facebook-page, I decided to put this Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione on Flickr as well. Tomorrow, there will be a photo from my first fotoshoot, wich I had today!

Achnashellach Station is a request stop on the Kyle Line. The platform is tiny but there is shelter for a bad day. There are a lot of good walks in this area and it is possible to come by train do a walk or cycle and catch the train back. Just make sure you catch the train it is a long walk to anywhere from here. You will notice the big trees so you can imagine this place would be chronic for midges in the summer months.
I was pleased to add another station to my collection I have just three to go on the Kyle Line.
As requested, I'm showing progress pictures of this sketch. Here I've added the base colour. Next I'll start adding tone and shadows to show the light
Another request from my son, to build a spaceship he could then safely* fly about afterwards.
*Safely meaning it won't fall apart easily!

Requested by Amy, here are my Ringo Pie blocks all together (sans my kitchen aid block that has taken up residence in a shadow box frame until I'm ready to work on the quilt). I think I'm only missing one persons block?
When word got around that Ffion was coming to stay, long before that day, the requests for photos of the fair Ffion were hitting my inbox.
Here she is; my little bright-eyed shadow for the holidays!

Vernazza is the next to northernmost town and perhaps most picturesque of the five towns of Cinque Terre in Italy. Colorful, antique homes cling to impossible cliffs. A lovely small harbor nestles under the shadows of an ancient castle and a dramatic seaside church.
Understand
Vernazza has the only proper harbor in the Cinque Terre and is a charming, small fishing village. Vernazza was founded about 1000 A.D. and was ruled by the Republic of Genoa starting in 1276. Vernazza's medieval castle, Belforte, was built in the mid-1500's, primarily to protect the village from pirates.
Vernazza's historic wealth is evidenced by the elegant style of its houses and streets, which are decorated with tower forms, open galleries, refined arcades and elaborate doorways. The Village is surrounded by very steeply-terraced Olive groves which are said to produce among the finest Olive oil in the country.
Vernazza is a quaint, tiny place, with a population of about 1,000. The entire Cinque Terre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Since the train and Rick Steves have brought droves of tourists to the Cinque Terre, most business owners speak enough English to satisfy the typical visitor. A woman may come out of her house in the evening to ask if you need a room for the night. Be cautious as the only English word she may know is "room." She may also ask if you need a "zimmer" (room in German)" The language barrier is not a problem for Vernazzans even if they don't speak English. Play along and it won't be a problem for you either.
Had a request for more surf photos yesterday, so here you go. Hoping i might find a wave myself later on too, i still got the cough, and its probably not what a doc would prescribe for me, but i'm gonna go anyway and hope for the best, i NEED to surf again!

We tend to celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied ad multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.

While out in St. Peter’s Square with my Tuesdays partner in crime, this young lady stepped out in front of me as I was about to take a photograph. At first I thought she was telling me not to take her picture to which I replied “I’m not, and I haven’t taken any”; she was actually saying “I’ll give you a £1 if you take my picture”. This request completely threw me but I did as she asked, (no money changed hands in case you were wondering). After taking the picture she looked at the image on the back of my camera and said “Let my mother know that I am ok”; then she left just as quickly as she had arrived. This took no more than 30 seconds. As I don’t know this young lady or her mother I decided to post the image and request just in case someone out there does recognise her and her mum and maybe, just maybe they could pass on her message.

In 1952, at the age of 17, two of my paintings were selected in a competition to be shown at the Tivoli galerie in Panama city. Among the artists showing their work was the already well known artist Isaac Benitez with whom I became friends. It was the first time I saw Barbaro's paintings and I became at once fascinated by the work of this brilliant expressionist painter, later with Isaac to become "National treasures" after their death. Both being honored on postage stamps. I recall vividly, when told that the gallery sold one of his paintings to an American tourist for the unheard of sum, at that time, for $40.00 U.S., when most any of us ever got was $4.00 or $5.00 at a time. My mother also showed at another time getting about $5.00 after paying commission. To-day, I am told that Barbaro's paintings fetch from anywhere from $100.000 to half a million. Barbaro Rivas, in spite of his fame died penniless in his home town in 1967, spending every penny he earned on his "aguardiente" and "chamuco". He was frequently seen at the bullfights and cockfights he loved and painted.
p.s. Should I get requests to see this greatest of expressionist artists works, will post them, for I own reproductions of all of his works. For some reason he is not too well known in U.S.
