Just another day in Paris: strolling through the City of Light after a business trip (for an online reputation repair client). By Steven W. Giovinco www.recoverreputation.com

This is a photograph from the annual Na Fianna AC "Bob Heffernan" 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which was held in Johnstownbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Tuesday 17th May 2016 at 20:00. The race is now firmly established on the Leinster road racing calendar with athletes travelling from all over the region to take part. The race has gained a glowing reputation as being one of the fastest 5KM road races in Ireland. It is one of the rare occasions around road racing circles these days where a very small club can organise a very successful large participation race. Today's race had another very large attendance with over 480 participants finishing the race following on from over 400 finishers last year. .

This race commemorates the years of work and volunteering that local man Bob Heffernan gave to Meath, Leinster, and Irish athletics from grass roots upwards and his work with the host club Na Fianna AC. Na Fianna AC are typical of many rural sporting clubs who have a large catchment area which combines rural North Kildare and South Meath. The race, known affectionately by club-members as simply "Bob's race" is a fitting tribute to commemorate his contribution to this sport.

The very changeable weather from the entire day made for an unpredictable night weather wise. There were several very heavy torrential showers of rain before the race. The race itself was ran in dry overcast conditions.

This race is part of the annual Meath AAI Road Race League despite the fact that the race is run completely in County Kildare. The current route for the race has stayed the same over the past few years. However previous to that the race was held in Enfield and also Rathmoylan in County Meath. The race starts on the busy Enfield to Endenderry road and this requires a big effort from stewards and marshalls. However, as always, the event was a resounding success with personal bests and great runs from many of the participants. The course is very fast and flat - it is a one loop course which is left-handed in terms of turns.

We have a large set of photographs from the finish of the race and they are available on our Flickr photostream at www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/albums/72157667797591270

Yes - of course you can! Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. You can share directly to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.

BUT..... Wait there a minute....

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.

This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.

In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

The Dons have cultivated a formidable reputation for our coloring book prowess. So, when recent jealous whispers arose that USF had perhaps hit our coloring peak, we at Gleeson Library took them seriously.

After all, we wondered, can any coloring experience surpass our own well stocked Coloring Break Table with its rainbows of sharpened pencils at the ready to capture every moment of shading genius? Could we really improve our craft when the @GleesonLibrary instagram is already adorned with finished pages of such brilliance it seems perposterous to attempt bettering them? What was the next level? Was there even a next level? Well my friends we found our answer:

TO TRULY MASTER THE COLORING BOOK,

ONE MUST BECOME THE COLORING BOOK.

The solution arrived in early February by way of the cutting-edge minds at the New York Academy of Medicine. NYAM and other institutions created curated coloring sheets. All imagery was sourced directly from their own internal collections giving community members a unique opportunity to engage with the work. Once a patron had finished putting their personal spin on whichever piece they had selected they were invited to share via the hashtag #ColorOurCollections.

Needless to say, we turned our attentions to our own stacks.

Our valiant journey through the library labyrinth spanned many ancient non-copyrighted volumes. There were monsters slouching around the periphery of monastic manuscripts, sharks immortalized in fossil form and dinosaur sketches from the earliest American digs. We returned victorious bearing these and other trophies.

The pages we lay before you, dear Dons, are the fruit of our stacks. Take up your pencils. Your time has come.

P.S. Remember to tag #GleesonLibrary

Romary's had quite a reputation as a manufacturer of specialist biscuits and indeed it is said that they continued to be made until the early 1980s because HM Queen enjoyed them - they are now unavailable. Romary's were founded by Alfred Romary in Tunbridge Wells in 1862 as biscuit makers and his fame spread when, in 1876, Queen Victoria visited the shop and so they gained a coveted Royal Warrant.

They became noted for 'fine' biscuits, especially their wafers. In 1926 they became a limited company in 1926 when they were bought out by a Mr. Lane. At some point, possibly prior to 1932, they became associated with another 'town' biscuit maker, the Norwich based Freeman's whose Norwich Hollow Biscuits continued to be produced. In 1935 they were acquired by York based Rowntree's and the bulk of production moved to a new bakery in Tunbridge Wells. Rowntree's closed the Kent sites in 1958 and it is possible there was a lull in production as it appears to have been 1963 before production was restarted in the Rowntree's Glasgow factory - apparently to honour the desires of HM The Queen! Sadly they stopped manufacturing in 1981 and since then Rowntree's and the recipes have vanished into the vast maw of Nestlé.

Romary's also had high standards of publicity and package design as can be seen here. This is Romary's "Party Book" written for them by noted author on food X. M. Boulestin. It discusses wines, recipes for canapes as well as comparing the range of Romary's biscuits to suit various situations. It also shows the various packets and tins in which the range of biscuits are available and their qualities. Undated it 'feels' mid-1930s given the dates for wines given (up to c.1925) and the style of packaging; the tins shown have a real feel for Romary's redesigns post-Rowntree's acquisition of he company in the '30s.

Sadly no artist or designer is given and the booklet was produced for them by agency Charles Barker & Sons Ltd. of London. `This page shows the Plain and Savoury Biscuits range and includes Biscuits for Cheese, Wheaten Squares and Water Squares, Small Savouries, Sherry Assortment, Cocktail Sticklets, Amadoes, Water Biscuits and Norwich Hollows.

The Yilan cake shop built a solid local reputation before becoming a popular mail-order outlet finally opened up shop in Taipei. Most people just hopped out of their cars to grab whole cakes to go, but they also sell slices of their signature tiramisu and other cakes for entirely too reasonable prices to eat-in. Too bad they're not quite convenient enough to get to otherwise we'd be here quite a lot.

TANKUS THE HENGE

TAVISTOCK: The Wharf SUN 7TH APR, 2019 7:30pm

Tankus the Henge have built their reputation on unforgettable songwriting, spectacular live performances and relentless hard work, playing hundreds of shows across Europe and building a devoted fan base along the way.

Their funk-fuelled repertoire is wildly eclectic, ranging from New Orleans inspired swing to heavy rock riffs, and since their beginnings in the ratty alleyways of London’s Soho, the band has evolved into a wild groove machine.

Their new album, “I Crave Affection Baby, But Not When I Drive” is released on November 29th 2018.

Musically inspired by bands from the British invasion of the 60s and artists such as Tom Waits, Blur, Randy Newman and Queens Of The Stone Age, and with lyrics influenced by 20th Century American Literature, specifically the Beat Generation and Gonzo journalism, Tankus the Henge defy categorisation. Their hair-raising show, like no other, has to be seen and heard to be believed. Like a psychedelic, rock n roll octopus – only with four more legs.

Band Interests

Rock n roll, shoe golf, blindfold piano, fried catfish po boy.

This is a photograph from the 14th annual Daingean Festival 5KM Road Race and Fun Run held in Daingean, Co. Offaly, on Friday 2nd August 2013 at 19:30. The race is held annually on the Friday before the August bank holiday weekend and over the years has built a solid reputation as a challenging 5KM. Several former olympians have set course record times on the course as well as personal bests for many other runners over the years. This year the course changed from it's traditional 4 laps of Daingean village (see below). The race also benefits from the fantastic support of athletes from the running clubs of Offaly, Laois, Westmeath, and beyond.

Congratulations to all of the organising committee, those from Tullamore Harriers and Naomh Mhuire AC who assisted with race organisation, and the local community who come out in strength to offer support and encouragement to the runners. The race marks one of the first events in the annual Daingean Music and Holiday Festival. The Daingean 5KM road race is an example of a small local race which year-in year-out attracts a quality field for all categories whilst also providing a great opportunity for those new to running to sample a race experience.

This photograph is part of a set of photographs from the 2013 race which are viewable in a set at [http://www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157634904215018/]

Overall Race Summary

Participants: There was about 180 participants

Weather: Whilst there was a threat of thundery showers the evening was dry and humid with temperatures around 18C. The runners had a breeze in their faces for the first 2 km but this turned to a tail breeze for the remainder of the race.

Course: The race starts at the Canal at the Edenderry road end of the village. The race then proceeds to do one full loop of the Circular road and then proceeds out the main Tullamore road. At 3KM the course takes a series of right turns which brings the race back to the finish just off the main street opposite the hall.

Location Map: Start (goo.gl/maps/ubSxX) and finish just off main street (goo.gl/maps/skbk0)

Refreshments: There was a very impressive selection of refreshments provided for participants in the village hall afterwards.

Reputation Repair Center is the most comprehensive and cost effective solution for repairing your reputation and managing your brand name online. Guaranteed immediate results.

This village just outside Dub Laoghaire always had a reputation for the best of restaurants but I have been told that you need to book many weeks in advance for most of them.

Monkstown Village is an architectural conservation area and has a significant number of attractive (and protected) structures. The development of a traffic management scheme presented an opportunity to develop and enhance the public realm of the village while still achieving the road safety improvements.

In addition to the traffic management elements the plan, completed just before Christmas, had the following objectives:

The pedestrian surfacing around the village will be granite paving (rather than concrete)

Parking bays will be indented and surfaced with cobble sets (similar to those on Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire)

The grass area around the central planting area is being replaced with more hard standing area (paved in

granite). This will allow for increased seating as well as opportunities for mini markets, Christmas tree etc.

There will be raised flower beds and tree planting which will be more attractive than a grassed area

The existing carriageway on Monkstown Crescent is being narrowed to 6m (allowing 3m traffic lanes in both directions). This allows for an additional 1.5m to be allocated to the path adjacent to the restaurants

The parking bays are being indented allowing for an increased cross fall (reducing the level difference between the path and road)

Raised flower beds are being provided to provide separation from the road and to provide planting in the area (which is currently all hard materials)

The existing path adjacent to the restaurants is being widened significantly

A crossing point is being added at Avoca which will incorporate seating and planting

The existing overhead cables will be removed and the poles relocated

Street furniture will be rationalised

decorative lighting will be added

Loading bays will be reduced in size resulting in no loss of parking as a result of the new scheme
