This is a mustard jar repurposed with polymer clay. I made "windows" with Premo metallic clay I put a few slices of my flower canes with some glitter and then filled them in with Kato LPC. The flowers look like they're floating. I love how clear the Kato is after curing.

The former Webster Street freight house of the Baltimore & Ohio in Dayton, Ohio, still stands and has been been repurposed as part of an area known as Webster Station that is known for its urban lofts, bars and breweries. These were fun to make and sold quickly on etsy. I found some lonely potholders on a clearance shelf and used buttons I bought from another etsy seller to create these small clutches. Just the right size for your personal items!

Simple and nice idea !
I am quite delighted with my poetic repurposing of a film splicer from my movie projectionist days. It is perfect for holding the iPod exactly perpendicular for use as a movie camera. I am working on my first home video to promote the ICD conference. It will totally raise the bar for future conference chairs, so said Jim at headquarters. Well no one's ever done it before and not in a mountain climbing outfit. And what has been done for the National conference is on the whole very poorly executed. Such room for improvement always serves to inspire me.
Update 3/10/13: I worked all afternoon trying to get the two minute take in one shot after memorizing the script. It took four hours before I could do it without messing up. Catherine said it lagged a bit. This solo medium just may not be as funny when done without an audience. So if it doesn't translate I'm not sure I'll attempt another.
Update 3/17/13: After 40 plus takes and three days I finally got it right in one take and had enough schtick and different expressions to liven it up some. Sent it to Jim for him to add the ICD and conference logo and website. He also put in music and subtitles. So overall it has a professional look suited to the cause.
I wasn't sure how I'd like this quilt. I had picked up a great quality 100% cotton cream printed sheet at Goodwill, and it didn't match most of my other sheet fabrics. I decided to go with three different solids, all of them as HST blocks with the cream print. I laid them out in a star pattern using 4x4 blocks in each. Once completed, I decided I liked it after all!

Toronto, Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). Detail of "Colouored Vases" (2007-2010), an installation by Ai Weiwei. For this series, Ai dipped vases from the Han dynasty into industrial paint, hiding their faded but richly patterned surfaces beneath brightly coloured veneer that he let drip at random.
