In the efforts to live slightly less like a transient I'm trying to take a keener interest in making my abode look less like a storage area for junk and more like an actual livable place.
Last year I tried to print on fabric; I wanted desperately to make pillows/cushions but Arizona's tough weather just kind of sapped that desire from me when the prints just kept getting messed up. Which kinda saddens me because I still like this artwork, and the two attempts have been sitting in my studio til now (reminders of failure! oh!). I decided to repurpose an old frame I had used in an old show and try and frame a segment of the good part. This one didn't print totally so the right side is less covered, but I kind of like it asymmetrical and imperfect like this. So at least it'll come to life somehow for now!
I am so dying to screenprint right now you have no effing idea. Kills me :(
Architect Didier Fiuza Faustino’s swing-set installation Double Happiness at the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Bi-City Biennial of Urbanism and Architecture is one killer coup of billboard ad space.

what you say, repurposed...yep, the pigeons find it to be a wonderful perch. Course they probably did that before it was abandoned.
Three repurposed EMDs sit east out in the 25kV yard. The F40s have recently been regularly used for stone trains in the last few months.
My former wheelbarrow. Tried to get the city to take it since it was very rusty and leaking. No dice. My next door neighbor saw me cleaning the yard and asked me for it. A litte paint and some flowers and look at the result! Got me anoter beautiful picture by the way.
The face cloths in my bathroom are actually thrifted cotton crochet work, which I added a crocheted hanging loop too. They are wonderful exfoliators and look good too!
Manchester is where I was born, the plan was to exhibit and hopefully sell but i am not sure I can actually do it,probably will never find this map again as it was an old map .I love the place where I was born and dont visit nearly enough even though I only live about 15 miles away.It might be a grey brooch but Manchester is one of the most vibrant and colourful cities in the UK its veins run red rather like the road system on the map.
I live in dread of when maps will be photographic rather like paper versions of Google Earth,I shudder at the thought.
Ruth Tabancay. 21" x 33" x 60". Used Teabags, Hand-sticted muslin, and embroidery.
This quilt, made from found, used, teabags, speaks to the user by evoking the notion of friendship, comfort, and warmth that is associated with drinking tea. Her work is an opposition to "high-tech" and calls on the sculptural forms of everyday life.
For our SR 11/Chuckanut Drive fish passage project in Hoag's Creek we are using woody debris from the area and repurposing it in the creekbed. Large rootwads provide shade for migrating fish and protection from overhead predators.

I've transformed a full length skirt with side split into a v neck top, without cutting the original garment. So easy, this could be done by hand stitching, and takes 5 minutes

Last year I had thought about putting another gate at the end of the run to make it easier to access the front yard. I called in a fencing company who wanted to charge me $500.00. Whoa!!! Can you say RIP-OFF! Needless to say we didn't hire that company!!! So the gates went into the garden, a good use for them! They will be used for the Cucs and Squash to climb on!

My neighbor down the street was getting rid of a couple of farmhouse chairs. Instead of them ending up as firewood, I grabbed some pallet planks and a few 2x6 pine boards from a box crate and went to work.

www.recyclart.org/2015/10/stove-top-espresso-pot-repurpose/
There are far too many stove top espresso makers out there that are not being used! Perhaps it was a gift or a "find" at a flea market. Perhaps you just plain think it's too much trouble to use. In any event, you're probably thinking it belongs in your next yard sale. DON'T BE SO HASTY!
First, remove the funnel and cut it apart just below the basket, Discard the rest in your recycle bin. Next, drill a hole in the base fairly close to the bottom and install a lamp socket that takes an old style Christmas light. The kind that get hot. This needs to be wired to a switched power cord. Third, reassemble the pot with a handful of coffee beans in the funnel.
Here is the complete rundown. The funnel basket holds the coffee beans above the hot lamp in the base. The lamp, in turn will heat up the coffee beans releasing the oils and making them rise to the top of the espresso pot. There is a two-fold purpose to flipping the handle upside down. First, it holds the coffee pot lid open just a crack allowing the coffee oil aroma to escape. Secondly, it's my homage to RecyclArt.org! (Thanks Dilbert! :))
