Near a beautiful ocean side park in Maui I found an ancient payphone which had been adapted for modern purposes...Tattoo site, Bar (See Vodka Offering), Bubble Water & Petri Dish for the next pandemic! Not sure about the Phone as I did not have latex gloves and kept a healthy distance. I felt threatened just taking a quick photo.

The riddling rack played a crucial role in the making of champagne for hundreds of years. Before corking, the bottles are stored upside down to allow unwanted sediment to collect in the neck.
Succulent rack design by Anne Phillips of Go Green Gardeners.

So what? that it's 105 degrees outside... I decided to finish a wool bag that kept getting shoved aside in favor of the brighter summer colors. This bag is BIG and feels really good! I love wool!
Route 52 (Kellogg Avenue) in the East End of Cincinnati, Ohio. Look closely at the sign. I passed it for years and never noticed that it was an old Drive-in restaurant sign that is now being used for a junk yard that sells car parts. I had to stop at the junk yard to take some pictures before it was pointed out to me. Although I have lived near here in Cincinnati almost all of my life I don't remember there being a drive in restaurant in this exact location, but the sign looks like it has been there for a very long time. I'll have a burger, a coke and some fries with that short block Chevy motor.
Originally a post office, the Federal Courthouse in Milwaukee has undergone neglect, remodeling, re-muddeling, and finally restoration. This atrium was once the main letter sorting area with catwalks from which supervisors could watch workers to ensure efficiency and honesty.

Stan Atwell is one of my heroes. I've never met the man, but he's got a skill for demolishing buildings by hand, salvaging their components for future construction. Some folks want every building to be saved, but if it's got to come down, we can at least give it respect on the descent. Too many projects are just smash and shatter, bring in an excavator and a bulldozer, and plow it all under overnight. But there are those who take time and care, pour in the passion that history deserves. Mr. Atwell is making a future from repurposing the past, and I've got an incredible respect for that. It's only a little over a year since I first came here, had a chance to see the seasons changing on this crumbling country church. Now it won't be long before just the graveyard remains, serving sentinel on memories slowly slipping. Some only see the sadness, but I wouldn't care if there wasn't more beauty about it. I'm chasing around the energy of history, wind whistling through nearly naked rafters. It'll all be gone soon, but it's a good way to go.

It was once a factory building near downtown Indianapolis, but now it has been repurposed as housing. The tracks in the foreground at the Indianapolis Line of CSX (former New York Central) while the track curving around leads to the Indianapolis Subdivision (former Baltimore & Ohio) and the former NYC line that goes to Cincinnati. At one time the Pennsylvania Railroad mainline came through here, too. The view is looking eastward.
A repurposed atmospheric craft, the Nurjarks were upgraded with sublight engines and heavier offensive weapons to aid the Resistance. In battle, their pilots employed a tactic of engaging the TIE fighters in space and then dragging them down into atmosphere where the Nurjack's more aerodynamic shape helped to square up the odds. A small and ungainly fighter, it effectively held it's own against the industrial might of the evil First Order.
A quick build, this was so much fun. And even more fun to SWOOSH!!
