Hi, I'm Renatta, a 29-year-old newspaper reporter living in Southwestern Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. This is my fifth (!) year participating in PhotoState.
"The Boyf" and I have been dating for six years and I live with him in a house that he bought as a foreclosure -- hence we've been slowly doing renovations, some of which you may see in the upcoming year. We (I) recently adopted a 4-year-old orange and white cat named Clyde.
I will be turning 30 in July and I've been wrestling with the perceived (at least in my mind) enormity of that. I have a very busy first few months of the year with three weddings (including being a maid of honor in one) and their accompanying showers and parties.
In general, I'm an only child who enjoys baby animals, pasta, fashion and watching Steelers football and Penguins hockey.

Remember last weeks podcast that features Wendy and I talking about our departure from city life? Well this week Mark from Citizen Reporter put out a fresh episode with our friends Jay and Ryanne. Jay & Ryanne are probably the only people we have managed to convince to leave the city and spend some of their retirement early in order to enjoy the good life. They have made a fine home for themselves in Virginia and are dealing with the kind of small town problems that you see everywhere.

A rare Bench Reporter... I have never seen one without a date.
Benched in Southern California
Omri asked me "What is a reporter?" as a result of hearing the news cast announcer on the car radio saying something like "… our Economics Reporter reports …"
I explained to him what a reporter is and what he does.
After a short while at our relatives he asked me for some paper and a pen.
I was sure he wanted to draw as he usually does when I saw he was scribbling feverishly.
I asked "What are you writing?"
He replied "It is a report."
I continued "What about?"
He said "It's a secret report, I don't want to talk about it!"
So I left it at that, not that I can read it anyhow, his report is encrypted (Omri is just starting to learn how to read and write and it is actually written in gibberish).
