De repente, en un par de días, el campo se llena de vida: flores y minúsculos animales, que ya casi dábamos por extintos, hacen su aparición tumultuosamente. Es un frenesí de actividad, una sorpresa contínua que nos lleva a mirar de sitio en sitio. En cada metro cuadrado, como de la nada, ha nacido un universo.
De repente sales de tu ensimismamiento y rompes el desesperante silencio que lo inundaba todo para entonar un `Adiós´ desinteresado, te das la vuelta y te vas, te vas como si nada. Me dejas con mil y una frases en la cabeza a medio hacer. Y yo noto como si el corazón me diera un puñetazo desde dentro. Suspiro, te veo alejarte sin volver la vista atrás. Vuelvo a suspirar y derrotada me doy la vuelta y echo a andar en sentido contrario al tuyo. Y cuanto más nos alejamos noto cómo el corazón golpea con mas fuerza, destrozándome por dentro. Ya sé lo que viene ahora; me pasaré toda la tarde pensando en ti, en qué puedo hacer para arreglar esto aunque nisiquiera sepa que es lo que está pasando exactamente, recordando el maldito silencio que me arañaba por dentro y ese adiós que no hace más que resonar en mi cabeza. No aguanto más esta maldita situación. Solo quiero estar bien, poder confiar plenamente en tí. Que aunque haya dias malos, también existen los buenos.
(Donde quiera que estés, yo sigo aquí, como siempre, torturándome supongo.)

De repente, Laila, quería y necesitaba aferrarse a Mariam. Pero no lo hizo, no se atrevió. No oso mover un solo músculo. No se aventuró a respirar, ni a pestañear siquiera, por miedo a que fuera un espejismo. Laila se quedo inmovil, mirando a Tariq, hasta que el pecho le pidió aire dolorasemente, y los ojos le escocieron de no pestañear. Y milagrosamente, después de abrir y cerrar los ojos, descubrío que él seguía allí. Tariq seguía frente a ella. Laila se atrevió finalmente a dar un paso hacia él. Luego otro. Y otro más. Y luego echó a correr.
