Rapid repair of infrastructure, such as runways and windsocks, are a part of the Tribhuvan International Airport Disaster Response Plan exercise. The Tribhuvan International Airport Disaster Response Plan is a civil-military disaster preparedness and response initiative between the governments of Nepal and the United States. The plan was initially drafted in 2012 by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and Tribhuvan International Airport Civil Aviation Office. It specifically deals with emergency response and management procedures following a large earthquake at Nepal’s only international airport. The exercise runs from Sept. 15-18, 2014.
Ruston & Hornsby 48DS Class 4-wheel diesel-mechanical 'L10 Elma' (Works No.224345 built in 1945) at Wagon Repairs Ltd. (later Railcar Services Ltd.), Wellingborough, on 23rd June 1973. Originally supplied new to the War Department at the Longmoor Military Railway in Hampshire, numbered 'WD72214' (later '807') and named 'Caen', where it worked around Longmoor camp and depot until 1959. It arrived at Wellingborough via dealer E.L. Pitt (Coventry) Ltd. and it was finaly scrapped on site at Wellingborough in December 1983.

We kept getting water, and ice in the fridge, vs. the freezer (the "beer compartment" to fridge repair guys, apparently). Eventually (months), I was able to use enough of the internet to figure out what was going on. A defrost clip had come loose (because it's crappy) and was allowing the drain to freeze up, which filled the drain tray and eventually leaked down into the fridge proper. This also froze the cold air flapper, messing with cooling settings. Took it all apart and fixed it. Still works months later. Interesting work, and not that hard, but took most of the day to defrost and get it all cleaned up. Good to do in the winter, cause the food just went onto the porch.

Repairing a dial test indicator. They're only $10.- at Harbor Freight but its a long drive.. Had to retap the bolt holes for the back mounting plate which had become loose due to screws falling out. Tapped holes to their full depth and replaced old too-short screws with four: 2-56 x 5/16" SHCS.
