This Shoe Repair shop is really small inside. Really. The woman standing out on the sidewalk is waiting for another customer to leave so she can enter & take care of her business. The customer that is standing inside at the small counter can be partially seen; the back of her coat is just below the E in the neon OPEN sign.
The other business in this building is Vivi's, a restaurant. It offers sandwiches, burgers, felafels, and pizzas. Their secret green sauce is legend.
I hesitated about posting this in black & white. I like the muted colors of the original, and it shows some of the fog & low cloud on the hill in the background, offsetting the angularity of the building. In the end, this B&W reflects the age & ambiance better. At least in my mind.
Second step of my bathrobe repair. I'm planning on doing a bit of zigzag stitch over the edges to avoid any fraying of the fabric pieces I put in place. I'm pretty happy with the results so far. :)

A craftsman repairs a carpet in the Bazar-e Bozorg (the Great Bazaar) in Isfahan, Iran. The Safavid ruler Shah Abbas I (Shah Abbas the Great, ruled 1587-1629) moved the Persian capital from Qazvin to Isfahan in 1598. The city is now the capital of Isfahan Province. The centerpiece of the city was to be a large square, known today as Imam Square (Meidan-e Imam) or Naqsh-e Jahan Square. It hosted an outdoor marketplace and was also used as a polo ground. The northern end of the square is anchored by the Qeysarieh Portal of the Bazar-e Bozorg. The bazaar stretches from Imam Square to the Jameh Mosque 1.5 km (0.9 mi.) north-northeast. The square and its associated structures, including the Qeysarieh Portal, was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
Here's one I just happened upon while I was driving around. There was no easy way of getting to the place, so I shot it out of the window of the car.

I soldered new leads onto the volume pot, and resoldered it to the PCB. Both the main volume and sub-woofer volume pots were also very worn, and needed some switch-cleaner lubricant to fix them.

A lot of the work needed was a result of the neighbours leak, their tie in was not sealed properly, and they share a chimney that also has problems on the neighbour side, 2 pipes on neighbours side had to be repaired as it was leaking into 410 wellsely
Work done:
Scrapping 45 feet of the tie-in roof and two feet going around chimney, roof cement and fabric
replaced gravel, to keep moist
Sealed several cracks on chimney with caulking
Fixed two pipes on neighbour roof to prevent leaking on his roof using fabric and cement
Fixed area where metal was sticking up on shingled roof
Reattached gutter where it was leaking
*future recommendation—two pipe flashing that need to be scrapped and repaired as they are rusted out, tar is cracked will have future leak*

Repaired damaged concrete reinforcement pilings/columns of home - pilings cracked due to moisture getting into the rebar which caused the rebar to rust and the concrete to start falling off in chunks. Any loose concrete was removed off exposed rebar then the surface was prepared for repair. The surface was washed thoroughly with a bleach and water solution, allowed to fully dry, then a double coat of a waterproof membrane was applied over the rebar to prevent moisture from getting back in and once again rusting the rebar. A polymer concrete was then applied to the pilings. A sponge finish was then applied and the repair was complete.
I took bookbinding classes in Ishpeming, MI at the Joy Center for six months before moving to MN. This is my first book repair job that I surprised my husband with for Easter. It came to me without covers, in two pieces. I turned it into a full, hardbound volume for many more years of reading enjoyment.
