Once you get the front off, you're confronted with the discovery that for something that gets things clean, a washer is FILTHY. That ring of dirt is absolutely unreachable while the washer is assembled, and virtually unreachable at this point. I couldn't get in there to clean it out, so I'm pretending I don't know it is there.
To remove the top of the washer, you have to remove the two bolts marked in the notes on the photo.

With the new worm gear, and new drive gear assembly in place, and all the wires reconnected, I'm good to go. Oh yes, an a healthy coating of the supplied grease on the teeth of the drive gear.
The garage door stopped moving, but the drive box made a rumbling noise when activated. After determining that the door was not stuck, nor the traveller, nor the belt, there was one place left to look: inside the drive box.

A Pound Puppy that belonged to one of my kids. His ear had been chewed by a dog (I remember the horror of that day!) and he also sustained a few holes in his face in the same incident, and he had been put away.
So, I got him out this week, repaired the ear (it required sort of major surgery, I had to cut away the damaged ear and resew, so it's shorter, but he IS a Pound Puppy after all) and stitch up the holes in his face, but he looks awfully good. He got a good washing and drying and a new bow as the old one had been badly damaged as well.
Now he's off in the mail to be enjoyed by my Grandchildren. I'm not sure they know what a Pound Puppy is, a relic from the 80s!

This is my brothers work truck for his small engine repair business www.riversiderepairco.com (shameless plug I know). What's interesting about this is that he rebuilt the engine and repainted the whole truck himself.
This quilt means a lot to a very nice fellow we know who is 86. The quilt was made by the mother of a dear friend of his out of wool clothing from that person's father.....so we're guessing it was made in the 20's or 30's. It was hand pieced and some of stitching was coming apart. The back had been wrapped around the front for binding and was completely gone. I trimmed the edges and put on new binding and am now in the process of trying to repair the pieceing by blind hem stitching. Some of the trim from the side will be used to patch holes in the border. It is a big and heavy quilt and my hands are not liking this job.
