Just a little eye candy for your Sunday/Monday viewing. Only slightly more fleshed out here, but in dark red now. I'm still trying to figure out how to get an XL motor in there. I am building 4 copies of my #805 to sell, so I needed to Ldraw the locomotive for a parts list. While I was at it, I figured I could render it, too.
The copies will have an incremental number higher than the last, so the first will be #806, then #807, etc.
The tender was original built to house a 9v train motor, but I wanted to keep the cost of the custom down so I left it out. Instead I've included a non-motorized motor stand-in, keeping the rest of the tender design capable of easily receiving a 9v motor.
I created this in minecraft, duh, and then I exported it as an obj file, imported into cinema 4D, textured all the blocks (which took forever), and finally rendered. (GI + Ambient Occlusion)
There are 3 texture faults, find them, and you'll receive the gift of being a know-it-all.
The water texture is horrible, I know, it was the C4D standard one.
A buddy of mine machines these pens out of solid aluminum. He was kind enough to send one out to me to try out. I love the thing. It's got a nice weight to it and seem practically indestructible.
