This large piece of Cedar comes from the section of the tree right at the base where the trunk starts to spread into the roots, which should make for some beautiful grain structures. But that part of the tree is also quite often rotting out at the core. In this case I'm trying to come up with a design that removes all the rotten parts of the wood. I'm also trying to remove overcuts from the chainsaw that I used for first shaping. The plan here is to have either a hardwood, or glass inset that will cover the hollow portion. The circular saw is used here to cut slices into the wood. It can then be hammered and chiseled out by hand.
All of the logs on Kits Beach have now been removed as too many people were congregating on them and not allowing for correct "social distancing"

During winter sand is removed from the beach revealing pink rocks. The sand comes back as summer approaches.
this is the third to the last step of creating the slipper. you of course need to remove the pattern, wring it out and set it aside, it is reusable. next you need to felt the interior of the slipper. you will have to rub the interior in a circular fashion until it is felted as well as the exterior. Fulling it will also change the shape by shortening the area you full, but this is another story, As I was only showing how to felt here, not fulling

I've found that you have to really grill them well, then when you pull them out it helps to put them on a flat surface and cover over the top of them to create a nice little steamy dome. It helps the skins release from the meat of the pepper.
BELLS --- The bells are lowered and removed from St James Church on Blake Street, Barrow.
