These huge bales of straw remind me of enormous cotton reels, made from golden thread. And one day they'll be gone, because the giants will have come to collect them to spin into great cloaks of gold..... well, OK, I'm dreaming again ! But it would be lovely if that were the case. Instead, they're used for feeding cattle and making them bedding for the winter.
Taken in a field not too far from home, and processed using PicMonkey and Topaz Impression 2, finished in Topaz Glow. The birds are from a photo I took many years ago and used as a texture.

I has a visit today, from all ten Ducklings that recently hatched near by! This picture reminds me of the old song, ten green bottles hanging on the wall! lol!
Reminds me of my childhood summers when I spent the holidays with my grandparents. On the outskirts of the village there were cornfields, surrounded by cherry trees and underneath grew flowers like the ones in the picture above: poppies, cornflowers, but also camomile, from which I braided flower wreaths that I put over my long hair.

The Guardian is one of the most iconic trees in the world, let alone in the Schulman Grove of Ancient Bristlecone Pines in the White Mountains of California, because it is visually stunning and relatively easily accessible from the parking area. Beyond its accessibility, the relative solitude on the ridge with open skies and the extreme atmospherics that result from the unique geography of the region.

With all the problems in Italy at the moment it reminded me of my last trip. The Alpe di Siusi in Italy Europe’s largest high-altitude meadow is covered in morning dew at dawn, moments later the sun melts it slowly away.
